Timeshare Concepts

Nov 04, 2011

Has anyone done business with the company Timeshare Concepts? They list properties for rent or sale. Upfront fee is $799.00. They are out of Seminole, FL. The rep has given us all kinds of license numbers to verify their legitimacy as well as Better Business Bureau ratings of A+ to BBB. Thanks. Mary

Never heard of them but new timeshare scams pop up everyday. You can just as easily list your timeshare for sale or rent on Redweek, which gets a tremendous amount of traffic from people wanting to buy, sale or rent timeshares, for a lot less than $799. The business you're referring to will merely list your timeshare in a database that no one will ever see.

The key is to price your timeshare competitively when you place your ad ..... setting a competitive price depends on the supply and demand of the resort and time owned.

I also am considering listing my Timeshares (plural) with Timeshare Concepts. The fee is quite a bit more for me, however. They were going to charge me $1249.00 to sell my Wyndham timeshare, and my Summer Winds / Branson timeshare for $500.00 for a total of $1749.00 in fees. Have you heard anything? Is Timeshare Concepts a reputable company?

Have you had any luck with Timeshare Concepts? I just listed two timeshares with them today. I hope I am not going to be disappointed.

Call your credit card company today! They have been in business a little longer than a year with 11 complaints with the BBB already. Scam

JoanneK-- How long ago did you list with them?

What their contract says: they would "refund double my fee if my timeshare is sold by another company within the 25% of the original asking price upon proof of sale. WHATEVER that means!?

What I heard on the phone: They would refund double the money if it doesn't sell.

I have 7 days to get out of the deal...or six now. It's just sounding a little fishy to me. THANK YOU! Your input is much appreciated!!

SteveP-How experienced are you with these situations? I mean, have you been burned before? The BBB complaints were supposedly due to they called some people that were on the DO NOT CALL LIST. That is what the rep told me, anyway. I am looking at their contract and it does not read clearly in their wording vs. what they told me on the phone. If you can read my reply to JoanneK, you will see one of my concerns. Another concern, seems silly, but the contract they sent me as an attachment is faded, light grey in color. (my ink cartridges are fine) So if I wanted to fax to someone to look it over, it would be likely even more difficult if not impossible for them to read. It's smelling a little fishy. Oh, and btw, I recently learned myself that the BBB's credibility is questionable. Check it out on You Tube.

THANK YOU JoanneK and Steve for your input! I appreciate it. You two are likely going to save me $1749.00. I'll buy you a drink the next time you're in town. ;)

They just called me offering to list my timeshare for 'Auction'! Said they are not a listing or selling company and there is no charge. They would get their money from the buyer in fees and finance interest. I asked if there is ANY fee and they told me that there IS as $400.00 auction fee...I hung up.. I'm also on the 'do not call' list..

lindas1236;

Thank you for contacting TS Concepts on Saturday. I was unfortunately out of the office otherwise I would have taken your call directly. Per your request your refund was processed on Saturday. Monies should already be back in your account. With all this negativity in this post it's important that this is made clear to anyone else seeking the services TS Concepts offers.

Further the data provided to you by the sales rep regarding the 11 complaints with the BBB is correct. There was no misrepresentation there at all.

lindas1236, Should we be of any further assistance please let us know.

This being said I'd like to pass this info on to all Timeshare Owners out there. I completely agree that the Scam companies need to be stopped. The scammers / fraudsters make the rental / resale industry even more challenging for the companies that are doing things the right way. Anytime someone calls stating buyers / renters waiting, already sold or rented or checks in the mail simply hang up. It's clearly fraud.

Just because we work with Timeshare property doesn't make us one of those companies.

Have a great day!

TS Concepts rep, TedK, I want to see some proof. I want to hear some success stories. Your contract wording, the discrepancies on the amount that would be refunded... (100% or double the fee amount?) And how long have you really been in business? Why so much money up front? I'm sorry. I'm just not comfortable handing over that amount of money at this point.

Good, because if you did you'd never see that money again .... it's a scam, period.

jayjay How can you instruct someone on how to build a house when you have not built one yourself? What qualifies you to classify TS Concepts as a scam? The short answer is your not qualified. Wouldn't a scam be less than willing to fully refund a client that doesn't wish to continue services? Have you worked directly with TS Concepts? I'm sure that answer would be no to that question as well.

It's my understanding that the purpose of a message board is to learn and share ideas vs. sharing a poorly formed "opinion" on a business that you know nothing about.

Help Redweek.com educate Timeshare Owners based on facts vs. your ill formed opinions on something you are less than an expert in.

Auction? That's funny. Anybody can sign up and use bidshares for a fraction of what this scam company charges.

Steve P.

So do you charge $400 or $799 for the bidshares auction Ted? If you are not a listing company then why do you give customers an ad# on your by owner advertising site? This company will be on the Florida Attorney General page soon.
