Thanks for the information about Innovative. Does anyone know of an advocacy group to help get out from the weight of ownership? Thank you.

You can offer to give it away and pay all closing costs, but if the timeshare/week you own isn't within the high demand category, that may not even work ..... as far as I know there is no legitimate advocacy group to help get rid of a timeshare ownership.

I have filed a complaint with the state of Florida against Creative Vacation Solutions. They are in litigation with the state and were ordered to cease and desist. The south Florida BBB had over 200 complaints against them. I received a call from Innovative yesterday about the sale of my timeshares. They want an upfront fee, a surety bond, to complete the sale. I will check out the BBB and the state of Florida and decline the offer. Tempting as you know...but Creative will not refund my monies to date and act as though they are still in business. I had a call today from Innovative Timeshare out of Long Island NY, Ron Alexander had a good sales presentation, I was quoted $2,000 upfront to secure a contract with a potential buyer,, when I told him that I did not have that kind of money he was very short with me for wasting his time. I have had so many calls from a variety of resell companies they all sound alike: SCAM!

INNOVATIVE RESORTS INTERNATIONAL IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY OTHER TIMESHARE COMPANIES. WE HAVE ZERO COMPLAINTS WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL NOR ARE WE UNDER INVESTIGATION. IRI HAS NEVER BEEN LOCATED ANYWHERE OTHER THAN JERICHO, NY. WE REGRET THAT YOU HAVE BEEN MISINFORMED ABOUT OUR COMPANY. WE ARE NOT LIKE THE OTHER "PREDATORS" THAT ARE OUT THERE. IF YOU HAVE TRULY DONE BUSINESS WITH US, THEN PLEASE REFERENCE BACK TO YOUR CONTRACT YOU HAVE WITH US AND CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH YOUR NAME AND CONTRACT NUMBER SO THAT WE CAN PROCESS YOUR REFUND IMMEDIATELY.

If they have to be paid ahead of time for their service something is wrong. Go to www.ltrba.com and you can see licensed timeshare resale brokers that don't charge upfront fees.

Do you have suggestions on selling timeshare with points. I love my timeshare and have used it, however my life has changed and I no longer have time to take.

I care for 2 elderly family members, another dying with cancer, and adopted a great neice who at 5 weeks of age her mother was jailed for drug use, and work 40hrs or more weekly.

I NEED HONEST HELP AND REAL SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

You can try to give your timeshare with points away if you're desparate ... just post the ad on timeshare listing sites such as Redweek .... I believe Redweek has a bargain basement, I know www.tugbbs.com does .... trying to make money by selling anything to do with timeshares in this economy isn't working well .... some timeshares can't even be given away.

Thanks to feedback and postings from this site, we quickly took action with IRI and were able to get credit card charges canceled within a few days. While my husband was on the phone with IRI, I googled them, read the reviews and realized this was a scam. Within 30 minutes he called the credit card company and $2,889 had already been charged to our account. I immediately wrote letters requesting charges be reversed and sent certified mail to both Jericho and Melville NY addresses. Also sent a fax to IRI-provided phone number (in Florida). And we closed that credit card account. I don't know which of these actions got results, but something worked. All this took place within 24 hours of initial contact from IRI and that's probably what saved us. We did receive their so-called contract by FedEx, but obviously won't be signing away money on this scam. Never provide ANY credit card information to IRI; they will use it to charge your account without your knowing it! Thanks for the warnings and keep up the good work.

I have not been able to contact the person who contracted us with this fraud. We were promised so many things from this person Don Alexander . He promised he had a buyer and we would close with in 60 days . He promised the $1999 charge would only be on our account for 3 days and then be removed. If what you are saying is truth than give us our refund. I hope you will respond to this message

Report the company to the DA in the county where the scam operation is located and to the Attorney General in the state the scammers are located.

These people are a definite scam. The don't send the contract in time to be signed and charge up front money. When we tried to cancel they got mad and hung up on us!! Our only recourse so far seems to be with the credit card company. That line they give you about someone trying to steal their name is nothing more than that, a line. Many unreturned phone calls. Last one was supposed to be customer service saying you only have 24 hours to cancel so you might as well sign the contract since there is a guarantee buyer. Get real everyone, if you have $100,000.00 to spend on a time share you'd be buying a vacation home not time share points. Who is going to give you that kind of a loan for a time share??

I will tell you I had success with getting my money back but I had to go through my credit card. I called my card card fraud dept and told them my story. They told me they would reverse the $1999 charge on my account. I later got a letter from Innovative thratening to take us to court and collections to get the money returned to them. I then wrote a letter to my credit card company explaining the sequence of what was promised us and all that was said. My credit card told me what they were trying to do was illegal. I also wrote a similar letter to the Attorney General of NY stat and also the Attorney General of the county in Ny where Innovative is. I just received a letter from my credit card stating that this situation has been resolved and we are not responsible for the $1999. I thank and praise God that this is over. We were very fortunate and I wish you well and encourage you to do the same. One more thing , make sure you also write to Innovative and cancel and let them know what you were promised and not delivered on. If you just signed with them canceling and speaking to your credit card may be enough

I assume you filed the fraud complaint within 60 days ..... if you filed later than 60 days and was successful then you were very lucky, because usually credit card companies will not hear complaints after 60 days have passed.
