I am really confused about Timeshare Advocacy International. They seem legit to me. However, I have been duped two times now in the timeshare business and don't want it to happen again. Could anyone recommend any avenues for how to research them some more? A money back guarantee...it seems hard to beat. Please help.

If they ask for any type of upfront fee then I would not do business with them ... I have asked them to tell us here on Redweeks forums what their business model is but they haven't replied .... I would be very leary.

Have you read this entire thread ????

I can tell you that Timeshare Advocacy International is the real deal. They helped me to wake up from a complete nightmare! I was very happy with the service that they performed for me. I am legally unable to discuss the outcome of our dealings due to paperwork that I signed with the timeshare, but I can tell you that Timeshare Advocacy International will do everything they can to help your situation. They are honest and sympathetic to the victims of situations, like mine and yours, that they deal with. It was a blessing that we found them. After weeks of doing much research I decided to put my trust in them and was glad that I did. My case was resolved in about 2 months Good luck to you and I hope that you too can resolve your situation with the help of Timeshare Advocacy International

Again, how much money did you have to pay upfront .... what exactly did they do for you .... if they helped you why would they care if you discussed the outcome on a timeshare forum since you wouldn't have to discuss the specifics or the name of the resort involved?

Sorry, but you sound an awfully lot like a shill.

I agree with jayjay. They quoted me $2495 as an upfront fee with a 100% money back guarantee. But I am so skeptical. I actually got a divorce and my husband is responsible for the timeshare, but is not paying for it, so since my name is still on the timeshare loan, legally I am responsible. We bought the timeshare 3 months before he walked out on me and Have been begging Bluegreen ever since to buy it back. Of course at the time of the sale they said they would, but of course when it came time to deliver, they wouldn't. And they said they can't do anything and I"m stuck with it. I'm scared that for the rest of my life these maintenance fees are going to add up and I'm going to be stuck with it! I wish there was some real help out there.

And I'm not sure what a SHILL is but this jerredm sounds like what that is.

It's almost impossible to sell a timeshare or points with a loan balance .... I would pay the loan off and in the meantime use, rent or exchange your points.

I too was contacted by Timeshare Advocacy International and when then they told me it was a one-time payment of $29.95 with a money back guarantee I gave them my debit card number and waited for the nightmare to end. I got a call back that the payment had declined. I had misunderstood and what they meant was $2995. Luckily, I did not have this in my account. The person on the phone was very persistent in explaining why I needed to get the money and I should go as far as to take out a personal loan, he even "talked to the president" and got the initial payment dropped to $1000. I called my bank and explained and upon hearing this they wouldn't even consider giving me a loan. They cancelled my debit card immediately and sent me a new one telling me that this was a SCAM! I found only one company that seems legit through research, they do not take money upfront and warn you of companies that do. Unfortunately they only take cases for timeshares purchased in Mexico. If anybody has a timeshare there I would contact Gonzalez/Gonzalez time share soloutions. I called and even the receptionist warned me about the scams and not to pay anybody up front. She had nobody to refer me to but wished me luck, I'm going to need it I think.

In most developer-direct sales involving loans, it is a actually a third party providing the financing. For that reason, the developer usually cannot even CONSIDER taking the timeshare back when there is an exisiting loan provided through some other entity.

The bottom line is that the exisiting loan MUST be paid off before the timeshare can be sold (...or even given away). Understandably, no one on Planet Earth is going to have any interest in taking on your existing debt obligation when timeshares can currently be bought for pennies on Ebay, virtually any day of the week...

I wish you luck, but stay away from any and all upfront fee entities. They cannot possibly help you and they will just take your money and you will never hear from them again...

they advertise a simple and proven method ot timeshare cancellations. Summary, the client is asked to mail out the "notice of revocation letters" certified at your expense about twice per week for 8 to 12 weeks., I guess the motive is to "wear down" the timeshare company. also suggest to look up BBB report in Tenesees on TAI,LLC. bottom line, do not sign up with TAI,LLC

suggest read BBB in Ten. report, attemping to use BBB logo without pahying for it. not quite honest with BBB, so why be honest with a new client

be sure to really read the contract prior to signing anything. and have the "boss" sign on the contract. IF you follow every little instruction, you MAY have return of your fee.

I believe that the Florida Attorney General is actively investigating this entity (and others like them). Accordingly, the Florida AG office is the best place to direct your complaint or inquiry....

jayjay, there is no "MONEY BACK GUARANTEE", I charged $1,995 on 1/15/10 and have been attempting to have this charged reversed since 3/15/10. The timeshare changed owners, TAI staff was negligent and did not read all of the material that was faxed to them and now the new owners of the timeshare threaten to SUE ME, if I were to continue in this cancallation process. THERE HAS BEEN NO ANSWER FROM SEAN, CEO OF TAI, SEAN JUST SAYS, "I SIGNED A CONTRACDT" also check the BBB report, TAI ATTEMPTED TO USE THE bbb LOGO without paying for this privilege. redbird

I'm totally confused ..... how did the new timeshare owners acquire your timeshare ..... was it via TAI ????

Why are the new owners threatening to sue you ???? If TAI found a buyer for your timeshare then why are you trying to get a refund ??? Need much more info.

The business model is for the owner of the timeshare to pay for, and continue to pay for "Certified Mail" what they call "notice of revocations letters" to the timeshare that is to be cancelled. By this method of sending out these "revocation"letters" every week for 120 days, the length of the contract that is signed.. In adddition, the owner of the timeshare is to call the President of the timeshare once or twice per week and request this timeshare be cancelled. . And add up-front fee of $2,000 or more with no "guarantees".

Sorry, still confused .... I've never heard of anything referring to timeshares being as complicated concerning 'revocation letters' and ' the owner (would that be you or the new owner?) calling the president (who would this be?) of the timeshare (there are no presidents of timeshares, there IS an HOA president or the developer) to request this timeshare be cancelled' and such, however they would have no authority to cancel a timeshare transaction that's already taken place.

Are you trying to cancel a timeshare transaction that took place via TAI? If so, and you signed a transaction contract agreement for them to sell your timeshare and they did, then I see no recourse for you.
