We are 9 year owners of a unit at Ocean Pointe. We, too, were there this past March when the shark watch was in effect. To clarify for other people looking into this resort - that is the first time that has happened in all the years we have stayed there. The authorities notified us the following day that is was sharks migrating south from cooler waters. Because of an unusually cool spring, they were late in moving. They were gone as soon as people realized they were there. It was never a threat because the resort kept the guests updated constantly. We swim in the ocean every year with hundreds of other guests on the beach and have never had any problems.

As far as not having much to do on the island, I have to disagree with that. If you are in to malls, etc. then that is true. But water sports galore abound on the beaches; jet skis, parasailing, fishing, sailing, and wave boarding (all set up at Ocean Pointe). There are two wonderful restaurants on the island which you can walk to with a beautiful boardwalk and shop. You can also rent bikes or scooters to tour the island with. And there is a state park on the island where you are able to rent canoes or kayaks and spend an afternoon in the bay. We never get bored on Singer Island even after 10 years. I just didn't want people to get the wrong impression.

As owners we spent a lovely week in early March. The villas and resort itself are great. You will need a car as there is nothing much on the island. The beach is OK, no Fort Lauderdale as it is not groomed as often. In 2007 there was a sea lice warning, and this year a serious shark warning. The ocean is nice to look at, but for safety sake swim in the beautiful pools.

Thoroughly relaxing. Very friendly guests. We met several couples that we felt very comfortable with. We even met one of the couples later in the month to renew our friendship. very close to some great shopping. The view is great and the facilities top notch. The staff is friendly and cooperative. A wealth of things to do in nearby Palm Beach. Our stay couldn't have been nicer

Sorry I am a little late with my rating. We stay at Marriott's Ocean Pointe in January of 2008. I would have given it 5 stars but I felt that the front desk staff could have been a little more helpful with directions and hints on places to eat. We traded our Marriott Ocean Watch at Myrtle Beach, SC for this resort. As always Marriott properties are very nice. The unit we had was a two bedroom and having another couple with us we had plenty of space. The beach and the pools are very, very nice. We enjoyed just sitting around the pool listening to the music. We would trade into this resort again, if possible. bettym16

One of Marriott's premier resorts at a perfect location. Magnificent views both Oceanside and Oceanfront. Beautiful tropical grounds with inviting pools, live music, swings, market, poolside bars and great area restaurants. Yes, you do need a car but you don't really have to drive anywhere if you just want to enjoy the resort amenities. We exchanged into this last year and readily decided to purchase a platinum Oceanside unit this year. Perfect hideaway from the cold northern and mid-western winters. Hope to use it as well as exchange it for many years

I wanted so bad to give this resort a 5 star rating, but dropped to 4 based on a few observations. The units are beautiful. Spacious, clean, and well decorated. However, I thought housekeeping could have done a better job with the common hallways. Saw papers and littering in the hallways that went untouched for days. Also had problems with fire alarms going off and very poor cable TV reception (could not fix).

Otherwise, one of the nicest vacations we have taken in a Marriott resort. Great staff. Beautiful beaches. Wonderful pools and whirlpools. Loved the massages. Best Angus Burger at the pool bar. Loved the Marketplace and fast food service by the pool. Convieniant parking. Lots of chairs and lounges around the pool. Decent activities. Great views from any unit. Just soak up that Florida sunshine.

The location is a bit remote, but with a car, no problem. Must recommend the Sunshine Gambling Cruise as well as the catamaran cruise that visits the West Palm Beach homes for the rich. You have to do this one.

A very unique place to vacation with enough things to do that you feel you really "got away" from it all. Thanks Ocean Point.

This is a great family destination for any age children! We have been four years in a row and this is truly a 5 star resort. The staff go out of their way to make your visit a great one. The grounds are some of the most beautiful on the east coast! Our family will visit time and time again!!

Stayed in the Kingfish building, it was nice and quit a little far from the other three buildings, this had its pros and its cons. I liked the fact that the pool, beach and gym were never really crowded but it did make it inconvenient if you needed anything from the market place. The staff was wonderful, very helpful, and polite. The beach was absolutely beautiful the water was perfect I liked it much more than the pools that felt more like Jacuzzis than pools, not very refreshing. Of course this was summer and from what I hear all pools in Florida are this way this time of year. Our two bedroom villa was very comfortable and spacious with all the amenities. Over all I was very pleased with the resort and would definitely go back, just not during the summer the weather in Florida in July is terrible, no wonder all the rich people leave for the summer.

Nice pools and gounds. The hallways and rooms left a lot to be desired in the cleaning department. Went out of our room every day to find the same dirt and waste on the carpet. The staff was good and the aerobics fun. Far from restaurants and town. Definitely need a car unlike Beachplace where you can just walk, take a bus or the water taxi.

Absolutely fabulous and somewhat secreted away, this Marriott timeshare is not for the single crowd. Daily family entertainment, super drinks and burgers at the cafe/bar and a host of activities for the kiddoes. Good eating in nearby-drive places.

Looking for "the Mouse and rides" go somewhere else, but luxury and fun abounds for young families with wheels. Lots of places to go to and things to do. Just north of Palm Beach on an ocean peninsula...quiet and luxurious.

Near P. B, Juno and Jupiter...all kinds of outlet shopping. Can't believe I needed to buy so much--I had to ship stuff home..

More pools than you'll need for privacy and then there's the beach and all the activities there. Parasailing, waterskiing and para- skiing, fishing and girl watching (yes there are girls there!!!) Totally cool, but not just for singles. Need to stay longer next time so I bought another timeslot.

service mediocre, rooms mediocre. had to switch rooms twice when we arrived. counters in two kitchens had food crumbs left on them obviously not wiped down and ants crawling along the base boards. decore is definately dated and our first room in the Cobia building had a musty smell, carpet was filthy. not the quality you would expect from marriott. Finally ended up in the Sailfish building which has been slightly updated. Several other couples we talked to while there had similar issues. If you can get a good rate on the rental it may be worth renting as long as you realize before hand that this is not a five star resort. 3 at best.

We visited last February and loved it so much we bought two weeks. This is not a place for young people looking for a wild time. It is perfect for mature ( I don't mean old ) people who enjoy peace, quiet, and the nicer things in life.

This is truly a wonderful resort. Top notch all the way. Its in a very quiet area. They have 3 pools. The rooms are roomy with a lot of space. We went there with our 3 children. The kids program was great. Our children made friends the first day and were exchanging emails with other children on the last day. They have a meeting on monday morning that tells you of all the area activities which is great and informative. We went jet skiing which the older kids loved. A FEW THINGS ON THE DOWN SIDE. The pillows on the beds were very small. I would of perfered on big king size pillow then using 5 of these small pillows. The pizza hut by the pool is slooow. The baby pool is in the direct sun with no shade and because it is so small is way too hot for the little ones. But other than that it was great. Hope you pick this resort you will be very happy.

Definitely one of the top resorts in the Marriott system. We are highly experienced 20+ year veterans of timesharing. The Mariott name guarantees a first rate experience for the disciminating owner.

It is understandable that some adolescent and adolescent-minded visitors may not enjoy this resort. This resort is NOT for singles or for the "MOUSE" crowd. We all have unique needs and time and age changes some desires.

The disciminating vacationer will research the timeshare and match his/her needs. True, this is not Disneyland, but this resort is first rate for adults. Perhaps this is not the best place for chidren and adolescents. Of course a car is necessary. Why would anyone vacation w/o an automobile?

The drop off from the beach to the actual ocean is over your head. What little beach is there is hogged by the "for rent" umbrellas and chairs. Rusted wreckage and sand dredgeing equipment also is an eyesore. They count being but on the bay as "ocean front" -- so be careful when you agree to rent ocean front from them -- you will find your self with a good walk to the rest of the resort, the pools, and the beach. Twice while we were there our room was left with the door standing open by the towel service! Yikes! Compared to other Marriott's I have stayed at, this is definitely "less than."

Stayed here 4 days February 2005 and ended up buying Platinum timeshare. Looking forward to vacationing here for many years to come!! Kids had a great time hanging out, swimming, playing games. Food choices are great. Tennis accross the street. Great pools, whirlpools and health club! Beautiful beach. Great outdoor bar. Ice cream sundaes each day at 4pm. Perfect for our family. The rooms are spacious, especially the Master sides. But the lockout studio we had was also comfortable and spacious. Kids had their breakfast on the balcony. The whole area is spread out perfectly so it never seemed to be too crowded (even in peak season).

We had rented car so we could take in some of the fine area restauranats and other sights.

Only thing it needs is a small basketball court (maybe next to the tennis court?)

I recently stayed at the Ocean Pointe Resort and found it to an outstanding resort as advertised. Ocean Pointe offers so many things for everyone. There's golf, scuba, beach, pools, a workout center, shopping, excellent restaurants, and plenty more all fairly close.

The resort itself is first class! We enjoyed our stay very much.

I stayed there with my sister on a sales promotion. I did not find the staff very helpful, except for one person, and everything worth seeing is definitely a $20 cab ride away. DEFINITELY rent a car. This is not like South Beach. This resort definitely caters to older couples or people with children. Not a place to stay if you are single in your 30s. We thought it was too far from any action. Great gym though. Wouldn't go back.

Definitely one of the top resorts in the Marriott system. We've stayed there several times, including a sales promotion. We swore we weren't going to buy a time share. Promised each other we would just say "NO NO NO" at the presentation (which was on a Monday). By the second day there (Saturday) we were ready to sign on the dotted line! This place totally sells itself. Great rooms, awesome views, 3 excellent pools plus a kiddie pool. Two palm-tree canopied hot tubs, spectacular beach. Awesome staff as well. Also, they had a lot of great activities for kids. People don't tend to think of Palm Beach as a family friendly area (when compared with Orlando at least), but Ocean Pointe always has lots of fun activities to keep the kids entertained. (And a nice poolside bar for the adults.)

Ocean Pointe has much less t/s competition in the Palm Beach area than resorts in Orlando do, so these units have great exchange power and really hold their value (just look at the secondary market prices). We've exchanged our silver season unit here for platinum season at Marriotts elsewhere with no problem at all.

We're going back for our third trip in '05. Can't wait!

This is a beautiful resort even by Marriott standards. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and the staff is very friendly. We stayed in March 2006 and did not encounter any problems and found the place to be very clean. All buildings are now refurbished. This is a very special area of the Florida coast due to the warm gulf stream waters. Great for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The water is turquoise blue and the beach beautiful white sand. You can walk for miles and miles down the the beach as about 2 miles down is an incredible state beachfront park and sanctuary.

I have stayed at this resort three times, and every time I stay, I enjoy myself even more. The hotels has three very large pools, and two hot tubs, with a sauna. Its only a few steps from the pool to the beach, beach is clean and very scenic, with warm water temperatures year-round. The rooms are quite large and furnished nicely. There is also a convienence strore a bar. The resort also features a game room, with "kids night out", or day long camp services. I would recommend this resort to anyone who is visiting the Palm beach area, and RedWeek.com is agreat way to book at a low price without actually having to purchase a timeshare.

My wife, 2 kids and I spent Christmas week here in 2003. We really liked it. The toughest choice at the beginning of each day was whether to read a book by the pool or beach. Beautiful landscaping and easy-going staff. This was a resort that was difficult to depart. We would definitely go back!

Check with staff to find restaurants and other attractions; they are very accomodating. Palm Beach area has lots to see and do.

I Stayed here from May2-May9. This is a first rate resort. the beach is beautiful as well as the structure and amenities. ike all Marriotts it is a comfortable beautiful place to vacation.

The only negative were the aerobic / activiteis people need to put more personality into there classes etc. they are very bland basically no fun.

Pick one- two -three bedrooms, or a studio for the week. This is a beautiful T/S in a pretty quiet area, that is showing much re-development. On the original Coloniade Resort (sp?), the beach is still in the beautiful tropical blue colors and temperatures thanks to the gulf stream currents.

Worth a check is the Flagler & Breakers tours in 'real' Palm Beach. (Breakers was only on Wed- call to check).

Nice resort right on the water, with 3 pools. It's a 10 minute drive to decent shopping and restaurants, but if you want to fill your fridge and enjoy a relaxing holiday in the sun this is the place. Beautiful.

The resort was beautiful and a lot of fun even during the off season, but the restaurants in the area rather pricey.
