Williamsburg is a city that truly epitomizes ‘timelessness’. Just as it was a pivotal presence in the colonial era, Williamsburg has aged gracefully into a bastion of southern charm. There’s little surprise that it’s become one of the top travel destinations in the US, and especially on the east coast! While you can find any number of generic hotels in the region, there’s no way we could let you settle for that when some of our favorite Williamsburg resorts capture all the ambiance of this town steeped in history…
Williamsburg Plantation

Williamsburg Plantation perfectly embodies the historical spirit of the region, with a sweeping colonial facade and grounds reminiscent of the plantations of old. Staff exude southern hospitality and capture the spirit of a bygone era, and much of the property follows suit; the resort’s clubhouse is styled after Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello residence, and even the resort’s outdoor pool creates the illusion of a lakeside plantation.
When planning a stay at Williamsburg Plantation, count on having quite an expanse of room at your disposable. The resort offers two and four bedroom units, and while the resort’s facade and public buildings reflect old-world charm, the units themselves are unabashedly modern. Rooms are furnished with warm tones – red, orange, golden-yellow and cream – and trimmed with sleek black wood. Suites themselves are fully outfitted with separate dining rooms, complete kitchens (in most suites), whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, televisions and DVD players, in-room WiFi and a balcony or patio.
There’s never a shortage of activities in Williamsburg, ranging from historical excursions to theme parks. However, there’s bound to be a couple days where you want to relax and enjoy all the resort has to offer, and Williamsburg Plantation certainly has you covered. The resorts boasts a heated indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a dedicated children’s pool and a hot tub. There’s also barbecue grills and picnic tables, a playground and tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, a nature trail, horseshoe pit, arcade and an onsite spa. Regardless of how many individuals make up your group or what their interests are, Williamsburg Plantation has enough variety to keep everyone busy.
