Val-Kil Cottage, New York, submitted by Nathan P., Maryland
Val-Kil Cottage is officially the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site. Managed by the National Park Service, this delightful house is two miles east of Springwood, the Hyde Park Roosevelt family home.
Val-Kil is the only home Eleanor could call her own. Eleanor wrote,” Val-Kill is where I used to find myself and grow. At Val-Kill I emerged as an individual.”
Today you can visit Val-Kil and see this remarkable sculpture, so life-like that you feel you have been invited by the Roosevelts to join them for an afternoon on the patio.
Make a New York timeshare rental your base and enjoy the discovery of fascinating places and people around the state.
