The fundraiser benefits National Cherry Blossom Festival, Inc., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to “promoting the beauty of nature and international friendship through year-round programs, events, and educational initiatives that enhance our environment, showcase arts and culture, and build community spirit.”
The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on April 13 is the culmination of the planned events. Rain or shine, this popular parade makes its way down Constitution Avenue with vibrant costumes and blossom-inspired décor, colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats, marching bands from across the country, and exciting street performers.
