Inside the upper “King’s Chapel” at Sainte-Chapelle on the Ile de La Cite in Paris. Submitted by Joe Gosha, North Carolina.
Built by King Louis IX and consecrated in 1248, the Sainte-Chapelle is considered one of the highest achievements of Gothic architecture. It has been a National Historic Monument since 1862, and has one of the most extensive collections of 13th century stained glass anywhere in the world.
