Forums
What a great idea! With the new forum board, people wanting to rent or buy timeshares will be able to access information NOT provided by those of us who are advertising our units. This will hopefully allow them unbiased information regarding the resorts, area attractions, restaurants, etc. As for those of us advertising, its a wonderful way to get feedback from our renters so we can better understand the needs and desires of our clients.

Has anyone been billed for Assessment Fees through Festiva Resorts. I purchased a timeshare in St. Maarteen, realizing that it was possible for maintenance fees to increase--and they have. Then recently I receive a payment booklet with assessment fees since The Atrium has been purchased from Festiva and needs some updates to make it a better resort. What I would like to know is this usual with timeshares? What if I refuse to pay, etc. I know that the laws in the Netherlands are different than the U.S. Assessment fees were not in my contract/lease. I realize since the laws are not the same this practice is legal. If you have any advice or have experienced this situation with a timeshare, please let me know. Cynthiap30
