Wyndham Points

We have purchased a fixed week in Pomano Beach Fl. We stayed for the first time this past week and absolutely loved it for many reasons other than just being in florida and plan on using this yearly. We were discussing purchasing points for other travel through out the year. How many points should we consider purchasing if we are looking for 7 - 10 extra days a year? And does it matter where the wyndham resort originates? Thanks in advance. Mike

First of all, I would check E-Bay to see if any units that are already converted to points are being offered for sale or giveaway. If you want 7-10 extra days per year, that would depend on a number of factors: the size of the unit, the location, time of year, the actual resort, even the day(s) of the week that you are checking in. For instance, a 1-BR unit will need fewer points at the same resort than a 2-BR unit.

As for where the resort originates, I am not too sure but you might want to calculate the maintenance fees to points ratio. For instance, if you buy a unit at one resort that yields you 50,000 points, your maintenance fees could be significantly higher or lower than a similar unit at another resort yielding you the same number of points.
