deeded and RTU

hello, can anyone tell me what the difference is? I own week 5 but not sure if its deeded or right to use thanks

If it's in Mexico or the Caribbean, likely it's Right to Use (RTU). If it's in the U.S., likely it's deeded.

RTU units you don't really own. It's just an "ownership" for a specified number of years which can range anywhere from 1-99 years.

Deeded is deeded real estate like your house or condo. You own in until you sell it (or it gets foreclosed on). If you die, then it is in your estate.

Read your ownership documents carefully to see whether your unit is deeded or RTU. If you need a clue, look up that resort here on RedWeek and look at the units for sale. See whether the majority of one for sale say "Deeded" or "RTU".
