TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi will join the Federal Trade Commission and law enforcement partners to host a press conference in Miami to announce a crackdown on deceptive travel and timeshare resale scams.

FTC to Announce Multinational Effort to Stop Travel and Timeshare Resale Scams More Than 170 Actions Brought by FTC and its Law Enforcement Partners The Federal Trade Commission will host a press conference in Miami, Florida, on Thursday, June 6, at 1 p.m. ET to announce a crackdown on deceptive travel and timeshare resale scams by the FTC and its federal, state, and international law enforcement partners.

Chuck Harwood, Acting Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, will be available to answer reporters’ questions, along with Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi; Wifredo A. Ferrer, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida; and Jay Levenstein, Deputy Commissioner, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The event will not be webcast.

The FTC announced it won restraining orders against three companies alleged to have taken more than $18 million from victims without selling their properties. All three companies' assets were frozen by federal judges.
