very low nightly rates

Mar 18, 2013

I am new to this site and have a question. I have seen several all inclusive places with a very low nightly rate. I am talking in the $20 to $40 range for a night. Is this possible? Why so low a rate? I am a little nervous as the saying goes if it seems to good to be true.....

Any other suggestions for a a newbie looking for a rental?

Thanks, Janet

I would also like to know the answer to this question. I am just now starting to realize that redweek.com is a good place to go to find rentals. I am not a timeshare owner myself, so this is a hidden secret of sorts.

Some people realize the actual price they can rent their units for and post accordingly. Some timeshares have very little demand and if that is all they can get than that is all they will ask. Some people will take whatever they can get to off set their maintenance fees. Still be careful and make sure you have a rental agreement in place and you should use paypal to insure your rent is safe and you can dispute the charge if anything goes wrong.

As I posted in the other thread .... I would be suspicious of a $20-$40 nightly rental rate .... I would look for something more realistic.

BTW, have you emailed those listing the $20-$40 rental rates and asked why they were so low?

just because it is cheap is not a reason to worry. there are entire timeshares selling for pennies and dollars (obviously for very similar reasons).

check them out though, no need to take chances.

I beg to differ .... I don't know of any resort or timeshare owner in the world that charges only $20-$40 a night even in this economy .... I would be very leery of such.
