Taking weeks off the back end of your timeshare.

Mar 05, 2013

Hi there,

I am new to the site and I have been looking into buying a timeshare off a member of red week.

Before I do I was wondering if when an owner takes an extra week at their time share and it comes off the back end. Do you still have to pay the maintenance fee for that year ???

Thanks,

Marc.

That should be negotiated and agreed upon between you and the seller.

If I understand you correctly (not sure what 'extra week' and 'back end' means) .... as lance mentioned above, this can be negotiated (depending on how much you want the week), but in most cases if the current owner uses the week then he pays maintenance fees for that year .... the buyer pays all future yearly maintenance fees upon taking ownership.

Hmm maybe I am confused.

I am under the assumption that I would be able to take 2 weeks in a single year at a time share I have for 1 week a year.

Doing so it would just take an extra week off my remaining week.

Does this make sense??

If so, do you have to pay double your condo fees if you want to take 2 weeks??

Thanks.

Why do you assume that you would be able to take 2 weeks in a year for a timeshare you have for 1 week a year? Is this stated in your contract?

yep that right, and we have done that just once...we hope to sell our divi phoenix and we would tell people they have one week less..
