Fake Florida Timeshare Regulators

A new scam was reported in todays Orlando Sentinel. A person who says his name is John Anthony is contacting people claiming he works for the Florida Department of Business Regulation. He also uses the name John Dees. He claims that he can recover the money people lost to scammers. He will give you a phone number he says is in Tallahassee, Florida. When people call the number they get and answering machine.

These are probably the same scammers that ripped them off in the first place because they know that they are already victims. The scammers ask for a few hundred dollars and up to one thousand dollars to be wired to them to recover the money that they lost.

Florida Law Enforcement is investigating and asks anyone who has been contacted please notify them.
