AVOID VIDA Vacations (los cabos experience) at all costs!!!

Dec 19, 2012

Today I had the worst experience with a timeshare sales company in my life. VIDA Vacations, associated with Grand Mayan in Los Cabos. They did everything one fears. The woman explaining things was totally unclear about what the details were, and nothing she said gave us any comfort. She of course went way over the 90 minutes promised. Would not stop after we politely told them several times at the end we just were not interested. Then she brought in the "boss" (Frank, I think) who was aggressive and insulting, saying "you don't want to buy this? you are like those other people who give silly answers to the question about why you like to go on vacation." I finally said I was done, went to the washroom and saw a manager from earlier and asked her help. Within moments, Frank was back at our table, in our face, and the agent selling to us called us liars for not really ever having wanted to buy the time share. We asked repeatedly for the paper we could sign to get out of there and she got more and more hostile. Finally we were brought downstairs and there was a mature, calm, professional woman who at least apologized. NEVER EVER go there. EVER. It was really abusive.

This is how many timeshare presentations work .... if one salesperson can't get you to buy then they bring in a second hardball salesperson to pressure you until you relent.

Kudos to you for not caving in.

The Grand Mayan Cabo SanLucas. The "Cryin" Mayan timeshare presentation as represented to us by a Hertz rental car rep is a "cryin" experience. Do not fall for this awful power sell. Hertz Rep said it would be 90 minutes, include cash for car rental, kayak ride for 2 hours and brunch. We were not qualified in any way for a property of this sort. Rep should have known two older women renting a compact car would ever qualify. Way over 90 min, insulted, one after another player making offers and actually reduciing me to tears. Heard later from a vendor at the marina in Cabo that the place is known as "The Cryin Mayan" for it's ruthless presentation and pressure. They took $20.00 deposit each at car rental to secure our going and we got it back in cash and we got the car rental fee and the kayak but it was not worth the awful experience. I wonder if Hertz knows their rep is moonlighting while on their job.
