Why I Joined RedWeek.com
I'm a timeshare owner for 13 years (one week, Marriott Desert Springs II) and am facing the decision on MVC new Destinations Points signup. Have not decided yet but came to RedWeek for the first time to research. I like: (1) immediately understandable RedWeek posts about the subject, (2) appearance of a vibrant discussion (not many obviously "corporate" posts), (3) an honest to God marketplace for sales, rentals, etc. that is relatively easy to use. Thank you Redweek.com!
Over the years, we have found the timeshare scene filled with confusing rules, real estate hustlers, hidden fees, bad surprises and disappointments. Kudos to those owners who spend the time needed to navigate all of this. For the rest of us, any recommendations for guides, hints and tips, books, etc. to use to get smarter?

For more discussion on whether to join the Marriott point system or not you can go to www.tugbbs.com and click on the Marriott forum there. There's been many discussions on this subject from educated Marriott timeshare owners.
