Attorneys General - they work for YOU
I have had two different internet instances where the Attorney General in those states sent a letter to two companies that tried to scam me. In both cases (GA and VA) the attorney general was on top of it and I quickly received a refund. If you've been scammed by upfront fee resale companies (or any scam company) then it would be in your best interest to file a complaint with the attorney general in the state the scammers are located. They have a consumer advocate department that handles such complaints.
Since we, on various timeshare forums, have gotten this message out attorney's general have been flooded with complaints. In Florida, timeshare resale scams are the number one complaint filed with the AG there going from hundreds a few years ago to several thousand currently.

What didn't work in FL? If you think you have been ripped off by a resort in FL then you need to file a complaint with the attorney general in that state ..... if your paperwork proves that you been scammed then they will definitely help you .... that's one of the jobs of the office of attorneys general .... to help consumers that may have been defrauded.

I had been told to contact Fl. St. Attorneys office about several companies that scammed me. They told me that they had run out of funds and to contact Fl. Agricul. dept. I did and was was told that if I sent in all paper work they would help me. All I had for the one company was Co name, addresses, phone numbers, and 3 names. Got a reply that they weren't at that add. and all phones were disconnected. So they could not help . carmenc101
