Why be a Redweek Member ???

Jan 21, 2011

Hi Bobc here. Not to cynical but now that the exchange program went to DAE & my banked trades & exchanges are made thru them I wondered as to the advantages of renewing my Redweek yearly membership ?? (Igot a reminder recently & that stemed this note. Please for me & ALL the others that may ask the same question, please remind us of the benefits of a Redweek membership aside from maybe the BEST availabilty search engine !!! (DAE's search is not good) Thanks. This forum may not be the forum for this...please repost where you think it may get the most views.

Please for me & ALL the others that may ask the same question, please remind us of the benefits of a Redweek membership...

I don't work for or in ANY way represent or speak for RedWeek.

That much clearly stated right up front, I know from my own multiple personal experiences that RedWeek is currently the BEST site in existence for selling, renting or buying timeshares (on either side of such transactions) --- and in order to post (or respond to) any RedWeek ads, you must have an active RedWeek membership. That in and of itself essentially answers your question for many people.

Since RedWeek membership (...at about $1.25 per month) is required to be able to respond to RedWeek ads, the many assorted scammers, spammers and "tire kickers" out there in cyberspace are virtually non-existent on RedWeek --- scammers and spammers don't want to pay ANYTHING to try to work their schemes. They also don't ever want to be traceable or identifiable, so they are unwilling to leave behind any "paper trail" (such as credit card info to pay for a membership). Some "free" sites which may also include timeshare transactions (Craigslist being the worst on Planet Earth) are absolutely riddled and grossly overpopulated with scammers and spammers from all around the world! Not so on RedWeek.

Personally, I never thought the RedWeek exchange program really ever amounted to much. Although the intentions (and transparency) were good and admirable, the inventory quality and / or quantity just never really developed adequately. In short, the elimination of the "exchanging" function on RedWeek means absolutely NOTHING to me in terms of MY interest in maintaining a RedWeek membership and intending to continually renew it in the future.

Those are just MY thoughts. YOUR mileage may vary...

There's no need to re-up your membership with Redweek unless you plan to sell, buy or rent or unless you wish to get contact info pertaining to a Redweek ad.

In all of the holidays, I had let my membership expire last week. after reviewing the " for sale" timeshare listing for Branson, I renewed my membership and listed 3 of my timeshare properties. i could write a book on the "methods" used b y many resale firms that have a very good story. I also enjoy the forums that are available most any time. rs

Hi all..Bob C here again...thanks for the 3 or 4 comments...good comments at that....surprising that members commented & no RW rep posted a reply...well I paid my dues for the year after reading your replies & glad I did, the search engine for rentals, sales & exchanges is so much better than any other site....just that alone is worth the 15 bucks...thanks again...see you in the forums !!!
