Does anyone have any info on The Fee Recovery Group that will recover money paid up front for sale or rental of a timeshare?

Outside of state Attorneys General, there is NO "group" existing on Planet Earth which is going to "recover" such money for you. If you have a legitimate case, contact the state Attorney General of the state in which the timeshare is located. Any other approach is a waste of your time, effort (...and probably some more of your money too).

I've been contacted out of the blue by the The Fee Recovery Group as well. I'd like to know folks thoughts. I'm having a real hard time believing that they are going to actually get any money back. I've called the Office of Florida Financial Regulation and there are no complaints at this time. But their License was only started as of Aug 2010 and valid until 12/31/2010. This is a 20% down with another 20% due once they collect the money so again it seems very hard to believe they'll be able to collect anything at all then we're out the 20% up front. I think I'd need some very strong evidence that they are on the up and up before I continue with them.

This is just another scam in the timeshare business.

As Ken said, you're better off to report the upfront resale scammer to the Attorney-General. They won't charge you any commission and they're legit.

A question for all of the timeshare experts, Southwind Management Corp, Hilton Head, S.C. owner of French Quarter and other timeshares companies has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last week. Does this present any legal problems to those individuals that purchased a week at the French Quarter, Branson, Mo. ??

Try binging or googling 'effects to timeshare owners when timeshare companies and their affiliated resorts file bankruptcy'.

BTW, I'm seeing more and more resorts filing for bankruptcy.

I binged my own question and it looks like some of the bankrupted companies and their affiliates say the resorts will operate the same for owners with no interruption, but I don't see how that can happen. I've read of some bankrupted resorts closing down completely.

I would ask my own resort or affiliated company what the repercussions will be for owners.

In researching the internet I couldn't find anything about Southwind's bankruptcy.
