Vacation Trader
Vacation Trader looks to be a new company (copyright website 2010) for buying, selling and renting timeshares. They say that do not charge a fee until the transaction is complete ..... if that's the case then I say go for it, but DO NOT PAY AN UPFRONT FEE OF ANY SORT. I would also request a contract in writing.

jayjay,
Thank you so much for the research regarding this company. It took me a long time to find a company that will not charge upfront fee. I just received email from them saying when I rent the timeshare all proceeds go to me and when the potential buyer purchase it, the service fee is 601.00 after closing and I received the check from the sale, if I choose not to rent it out, after closing the fee is 901.00 This sounds like a good way to go. What do you think? I will inform you of the progress. Thanks

Sounds good if they do what they say .... no upfront fees of any kind.
The problem I see is if all rental proceeds go to you then how do they make money ? Are they a rent to own company? In other words do they entice renters that may be interested in buying to rent first then possibly buy.

Yes, its an incentive, a potential buyer rent first to see if they want to buy. I will ask, do they have them go to a presentation when I talk to them . I have not commit yet I hope I'm doing the right thing. On their website they did sold one Holiday Inn Club Vacations timeshare recently, so it seems they have knowledge of their resorts. I will let you know update. Thanks

You have got to be kidding me. What a line of bull. They would have to right to go to the resort to show the property. This is an old line. Surprised they are using it. Why would you consider giving money to a person who has a website without an address or phone number. They are listed as a member of ARDA. Here is ARDA's member list as of today. http://www.arda.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Corporate_Dir

The phone number was given after I register on the website when by email. I will contact them 2:00 today. They have the logo ARDA on the web page. I click on it last night I could not find a listing Vacations Trader as a member, however, on ADRA they if a timeshare member is not listed could be listed under a parent name, I email ADRA and made inquiry about it. I just contact ADRA on the phone and Mr Brown give me some questions to ask this company. I had print out resale timeshare guide line last night from ARDA.

Update: on their web they claim to be members of ARDA I click on the logo went to ARDA they are not on the list, I gave them benefit of doubt and call ARDA and learn they are not a member. I got a call today from Vacation Trader, I ask the gentleman about it and his reply is he didn't know he just work here, whatever that means
