BBB Information

Hi,

I'm new to this site and wanted to check out the Redweek Inc company/site with the BBB. From Redweek's site I can get directly to the BBB site and find out all about Redweek. HOWEVER, when I try to find a rating of Redweek Inc by going directly to the BBB site, it comes up with nothing.

I'd like to know why. If anyone can help me get the information directly from the BBB site, I'd appreciate it.

I have a one-bedroom, red week at Tanglwood in the Poconos that I'm willing to sell, but have learned the hard way not to pay up front. Before I put it on the Redweek site, I want to make sure I'm not being taken again. Thanks for your help!

Hi JG,

You're right it does seem to be difficult to pull up RedWeek on the BBB website. I was only able to pull it up by doing a search for RedWeek then including the city and state which is Renton, WA. I'm not sure why it's like that. Must be some kind of a bug in their search feature.

You can't possibly be "taken" by merely placing a low cost advertisement, whether that ad is placed on RedWeek or on any other timeshare related site. This is completely and distinctly different from using the overly expensive (and completely ineffective) "upfront fee" parasite companies which you have (unfortunately) apparently encountered previously.

Where potential problems can arise on ANY site is if / when dishonest people RESPOND to the ad, with an unknown hidden agenda. No site has much control over who RESPONDS to an ad.

RedWeek is an established and respectable site (and, just for the record, I have no affiliation whatsoever with RedWeek). BBB rating or affiliation frankly doesn't mean much anyhow, in my opinion, since BBB is basically a toothless "membership" organization, which virtually ANY business can join if their membership check "clears".

That said, I would not hesitate to place an ad on RedWeek. I have successfully done so myself on multiple occasions in the past and will do so again in the future. Since only registered RedWeek members can respond to RedWeek ads anyhow, the number of potential spammers, scammers and other such parasites of ill intent seems to be greatly diminished on Redweek, compared to some other sites. It's then up to YOU to weed out legitimate inquiries from potential scammers yourself, since any and all inquiries will go directly to YOU. RedWeek is merely the "vehicle" for inquirers to contact you and RedWeek has no further involvement in your communications, negotiations or transaction details.

The timeshare resale market is tough these days in our weak economy regardless of where you advertise, but I wish you luck.
