Holiday is a long established company for timeshare resales. On a number of different occasions, I have inquired into some of their advertised listings as a sincere, prospective buyer. More often than not, my specific questioning about details of the listing has revealed substantial factual errors and / or inaccuracies in the Holiday listing I was inquiring about. Even once revealed and confirmed, those errors seemed to remain in the Holiday ads at issue, with no apparent or visible subsequent effort by Holiday to correct their mistakes.
I certainly am NOT stating (or in any way even remotely suggesting or implying) that Holiday is deliberately or willfully dishonest. However, I AM overtly stating without a moment of hesitation that, in my own direct, personal experience with Holiday, they have repeatedly been inattentive to the accuracy of factual details in their listings. In short, if you see a Holiday listing that you are interested in, be certain to call and ask lots of very clear and very specific questions and verify, verify, verify every single detail, in order to make certain that what you THINK you are buying is indeed reflected EXACTLY in the exisitng deeds and other documents relating to the current (and future) ownership.
Holiday closing fees are also a bit steep when compared to other independent closing companies, but that is of much less concern than inaccurate descriptions, facts and details in their resale listings.
Just my own experience. Your mileage may vary...

I agree with Ken that you have to be very careful of doing business with Holiday as many of their ads contain false information. I think they post many timeshare ads before they even have the paperwork/contracts in hand.

I sure do regret not doing my homework related to Holiday Inn Club Vacations. After the high pressure sales pitch for a 3 night 4 day vacation package I should have just hung up on the sales person. Though I thought that by them dropping the deposit $50 to have me schedule the time in 45 days would have afforded me plenty of time to make my plans. Well, after numerous letters and phone calls, all pressuring me to schedule, schedule, schedule, I started trying to call. Unfortunately I have stayed on eternal hold for countless cell phone minutes, listened to their recordings to press this and press that, leave a message for someone to call you back. Yeah, they call you back a few days later, when you totally unprepared to speak with them and have to call them again. And the whole scenario repeats again....
I have talked to several people now, and have gotten different costs to upgrade to the resort every time, even though it is typed in my record how much the previous person quoted.
Needless to say...I have just given up my deposit by choosing not to schedule at Orange Lake Resort...if this is how I am treated just trying to schedule the vaction to go there, I can only imagine how poorly I would be treated if I were staying there. The forfeiture of my $150 today is painful, but now I can see clearly that it will be the only amount that will be ripped off from me. I have learned my lesson about pushy sales folks trying to sell me a vacation - HANG UP...QUICKLY.

While your experience is unfortunate, it should be clearly noted here that Holiday Inn Club Vacations (...whoever on earth they are) is NOT actually related in any way, shape or form to Holiday Resales (the subject of this thread). There is no connection or any relationship of any kind between the two. The fact that each entity apparently contains the word "Holiday" within its' name is merely a coincidence.

I believe what she is referring to is the exchange system started by Orange Lake Country Club in Kissimmee called Global Access that also includes Holiday Inns (the founder of Orange Lake was also the founder of Holiday Inns) .... that's the connection, but it has nothing to do with Holiday Timeshare Resales, an entirely different entity.

I think that's exactly what I already stated, not in any way referencing or addressing anything at all about Orange Lake or Global Access...

about 5 years ago i purchased a timeshare from them and it went well. they were slow in getting the deed registered showing my ownership but eventually did. it took 4 month i just tried to purchase another timeshare from holdiay and it was the first part of November 2009. i still do not officially own this property. Holdiay gives me nothing but excuses such as reduced staff etc. they tell me to be patient. after 9 months, several calls to the closer and the company and nothing but the closer saying be patient. I think it is unforgivable to make anyone wait 9 months and yet i still do not have the property transfered to me. i am writing to the better business bureau and the attroney generals offcie in the state of Washington. i truly believe Holdiday timeshare resales is now scamming people. they take your money and you get nothing, I say, find a company that actually finished the transaction so you actually own the property.

Holiday has lots of advertising and transaction business to conduct, with fewer people working there to do so, while dealing with numerous other entities which have their OWN reduced staffing levels (such as Wyndham, to cite just one very specific example). These days, it's not at all unusual for a Wyndham resale transfer to take 6-9 months, regardless of seller OR buyer identity.
In short, while I can understand your frustration, I frankly think that complaints to the (powerless) BBB and / or the state AG may prove to be premature, unwarranted and pointless. The AG office deals with violations of law --- and it's certainly NOT "illegal" to be (unavoidably) slow in completing multiple transactions with a greatly reduced staff. There is no law in ANY state which identifies or defines a specific time period within which a timeshare transfer must be completed.
