Brigantine (Celebrity Resorts

Mar 19, 2009

I would just like to give a comment on the Celebrity Resort in Brigantine, New Jersey

This is one of the most laid back easy places to vacation. The town of Brigantine is just super, the hotel is right on the beach (what more could you want). There is a four star restaurant in the hotel plus a bar and restaurant right on the beach. Anyone that has a chance to vacation here, don't pass it up And it is only a few miles from AC, if anyone likes to play the slots, see shows etc.

Hi Nan, I'm an owner there. Last time I visited was before the renovations began. Can you tell me about the unit you had? Was this an exchange? Eileen

Hi Eileen We have Unit 220 in the Villa. Our week is 33. It is not an exchange. I would like to find someone else that has that week that would like to either sell it or rent it as my kids would also like to visit at the same time. What is your unit and week? Maybe I'll see you there. Sincerely Nan

Nan, I have week 30, unit 307 in the Inn. A large studio, sleeps 4. Have you checked out ebay to buy another week? Are you sure you want to buy another Celebrity? I inherited this unit, and if it wasn't such a great trader, I'd try to sell it. I've only stayed in it twice since 1999. Have they started renovations in the Villas yet? Eileen

Hi Eileen Too bad your week is 30. If it was week #33 I would buy it in a minute. As a matter of fact I always go on ebay and this site to watch for a seller of week 33. Can you fill me in on "if it wasn't such a great trader"? I am not too bright on this timeshare thing. Where do you trade it for? I do not know if they renovated the Villas yet. I guess I will find out in August when we go there. I will let you know. Thanks for trading info. Nan

Nan, If you belong to a Timeshare Exchange Company (RCI or II or one of the Independents: SFX, Dial an Exchange) you can "bank" your week for use at another timeshare. It's supposed to be like for like. One bedroom gets one Bedroom, Red time gets red time, and so on. My LgStudio sleeps 4 in a run down historic building got me trades into 2 bedroom units at Bryan's Spanish Cove, Orlando, Ramada Vacation Suites at Orlando, a 3 bedroom HGVC at Seaworld, Orlando. It also got me 2 weeks in HI; the first at RVS Waikiki and second on the Big Island. If banked early enough, I think this little unit would get me anywhere I want to go. Of course there's an annual membership fee and then an exchange fee involved with exchange companies. It boosts your total annual usage fees way up. Don't hesitate to ask any other questions you may have. Eileen

Eileen Thank you so much for the info. It will come in handy should my children want to go someplace other than Brigantine. Thanks again, It was a pleasure speaking to you. Nan

Hello Nan

I am a timeshare owner and my unit is in FL with Celebrity Resort. I accrue my weeks ( bank them) and use them in other Celebrity Resorts. SO far this Sept will be my thrid " exchange" to Brigantine. I have chosen to stay with the Celebrity Resort exchange as it is affordable and I have been able to book what i would like.

WE have been very happy with Brigantine and for this Canadian it is only one day drive for me.

Looking forward to another week at the beach Jane

In March, 2010 (over 6 months ago now) Celebrity Resorts as a company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They remain in bankruptcy at this time. Whether Celebrity Resorts can successfully emerge from bankruptcy at some later time is anyone's guess.

How the bankruptcy of Celebrity Resorts will affect owners and/or future use at the various Celebrity facilities remains to be seen...
