Murphy Bed

Oct 01, 2008

I recently vacationed on the Oregon coast at the Ocean Terrace, lovely little timeshares that were perfect for our weekend away. The unit that we stayed in had a wall bed, and we just loved it so much-so much that we asked the owner where it was from! We were told that it came from a place called Old Creek Wall Bed Factory, so we checked them out at http://www.wallbedfactory.com and they seem to be a retail company as well.

Does any one know of any other locations that have used these beds before? We would love to see more of them on our travels!

Murphy beds are not uncommon in some VERY small studio / efficiency size timeshare units; often units so small in square footage area that there is insufficient space to move around the room unless the Murphy bed is retracted back up into the wall. Many folks don't care for them. The last one I personally saw (just last winter) was at a place called Lehigh Resort & Club, located in Lehigh Acres, Florida (an inland town east of Fort Myers) when I went there to visit a friend staying there for a week on an "exchange".

Had them before, not quite sure where, but prefer them to hideabeds in couches...but comfort wise it depends on the matress. Living wise it is much better as you're not redoing the couch every day.
