New Owner - What To Do If I Can't Use My Week This Year?

Hi All,

I purchased a resale unit in Orange Lake West Village that is for week 40 (Oct 5-12 this year) starting this year (2008) Sun/Sun. I have stayed at OL 2x but they were rentals prior to my purchasing our own unit.

We have just found out our son's graduation is Oct 10th. Figures! I need your suggestions as to what to do about our week. Not going to grad is not an option! Do I try to "bank" the week for future use? If this is possible, and we were to use 2 weeks next year, do you get to stay in the same unit for 2 weeks or would we have our own unit for week 40 and have to move if we stayed on for week 41? Do I try to rent the week to someone (ie freinds/coworkers) on my own? How does this all work? Can I change the week for a fee? We are not part of any exchange group. Can I exchange it for someone else's TS in another location for a different date? As we're Newbies to this, all advice is most appreciated! Thanks

Yes, you can bank this year's week for future use if you belong to an exchange company such as Redweek, RCI or II.

It depends on the resort ... you can request 2 weeks back to back in the same unit. Being that weeks 40 and 41 are off season, you would more than likely be successful since you are an owner at Orange Lake.

Yes, you can rent the week if you so desire. Just search 'sample rental agreement' here on the forums.
