Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort & Spa

Contract extension from 30 to 100 years

Jul 06, 2008

We bought a presidential site during beginning construction which included the senior option of borrowing the next year time. In 2006 we received a call offering us an extension from 30 years to 100 years for a fee. We called the 800 payment number with our credit card and purchased this extension. This year we tried to borrow our next year week and were told that when we purchased the extension, we lost our senior privilege of borrowing next year's week. After many emails, they sent us a copy of a letter they claimed they sent to us in 2006. This was the first we had heard of it. We would like to contact someone at Pueblo Bonito who would refund us the extra fee and return our contract to allow us to borrow one year in advance. Reservations and sales have been no help. Does anyone have a better email address?

Hi We booked our next June stay last week. We own but didn't upgrade to the 100 year thing. Sounds like a scam. They charged our account before we ever said no and it was removed. If you check your Concord Servicing account you see it there and that it was charged before you ever agreed to it. Call them too. That is who sends the billing for the yearly fees and your mortgage if you still have one.

For reservations try Hector Salinas ---hsalinas@pueblobonito.com.mx

These reservationists seem to change every year. Hope this helps somehow---Anne

Dear Anne, I just called the 800 number where we made the payment and talked with Glen. Concord Service Incorporation does not usually take credit card payments over the phone, but in this upgrade case they were allowed to take credit card payments. Glen can't reverse the charge because it happened two years ago. She recommended calling Alfredo Ramirez in Customer Service. So I'll try that next. Thanks for your input. Jane

Dear Anne,

I have now also sent an email to Hector Salinas requesting an advance reservation, and received the reply that we can't use the week in advance. I have now asked him who I should contact to resolve this problem.

All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. Jane

Hi Again

I guess in rereading your post that I never really understood what you were doing. It sounds like you are borrowing next years for this year? The reservation I referred to that we made was for odd year use for next year but with the opportunity to book it a year ahead. Sounds like they really stuck you with this sale. Hope you can resolve to your liking.--Anne

Have you tried contacting Alfredo Ramirez at the resort. He is the customer service manager.

Dear Anne,

Thanks for the reread. It looks like we would need to get an attorney, etc, and it's not really worth all that. We own every year, and like to borrow the year in advance and have presidential units so more of our kids and grandkids can vacation together. Then we skip the next year, and only do this every other year. I guess that isn't going to work for us any more with this property. We were lucky this time and were able to rent a one bedroom unit for the time we needed it. We got it through RedWeek.com, and it should work ok doing it this way. But you're right..... it doesn't build consumer confidence or loyalty. But... oh, well..

Jane
