Global Resorts Network | Any truth to Global Resorts?
Hi All,
I have been researching Vacation Memberships and Timeshares in hopes of finding the best solution for my young and fledgling family. With today's costs of gas, airfare, weekly resorts stays (often averaging 1200 to 1500 per week). I'm hoping to find a long term solution that will afford our family to take several vacations each year to spend more quality time together.
I've been checking into various time share opportunities and recently ran across this website for Global Resorts Network pertaining to their membership priveledges that are life long and allow for unlimited use at over 5000 participating four star & five star resorts for no more than 799 for a week but more often the price is around 299 to 499 per week at these resorts.
I spoke with a few Global Resorts Network members and was delighted at some of their reports of savings and the quality of the resorts that they experienced when using the Global Resorts Membership. They also said that I could use it as many times per year as I want. I like that about this GRN membership. I also like the fact that it doesn't cost me tens or thousands to get involved with.
I was wondering if anyone that has had experiences with both Time Shares and Global Resorts Network stays could offer any further advice or guidance?
Thank you for your input.
Janelle

I'll be a bit more blunt than Mike and simply state that I believe this system to be little more than a "multi level marketing" scheme, not at all a good "value", and unlikely to provide you with either dates or locations you actually want. Ask yourself one fundamental question --- why is it that the only folks with anything good to say about this product appear to be people who've bought into this MLM scheme already themselves, but rarely (if ever) providing ANY specific examples of actual successful usage???
CAVEAT EMPTOR! (Buyer Beware)!

I am starting to think that the Global Resorts Network travel membership is really one of the best deals out there for a discount travel option that is best suited for my family and I.
I appreciate those whom are skeptical of the Multi Level Marketing format of selling a product. And obviously understand that many of the negative comments from "Time Share" owners are understood. The reason I wanted to learn about Global Resorts is because the Time Share options my husband and I were review cost ALOT of money to get started with and then there are continual fees, dues, and restrictions you must deal with as an owner.
This exactly what lead me to search for a more viable discount travel solution. I'm considering joining Global Resorts Network as a member because of what I've seen in the videos and testimonials from actual people whom have stayed at GRN resorts.
If it is a Multi Level Marketing home business I really don't see how that effect me if I want to use this membership to enjoy having my family together more often. It doesn't really concern me if the product is sold through multiple distributors such as a car lot or a franchised chain store in a mall. As long as the company that backs the membership has been reputable and reliable for a decent amount of time (Which I discovered that the product provided by Global Resorts Network is actually over 20 years old). Then was concern is it of mine how this product is sold?
I'm glad we live in a world of such amazing technology that we can view actual videos of the resorts and rooms and amenities offered by Global Resort on the internet. I feel this is a much more valuable product than a timeshare and look forward to the many vacations to come with my family and I. And best of it's not going to cost me ten's of thousands of dollars to get involved with.
But had to dig all over the place such as YouTube and other sites to find more information and also discover the videos that have really helped convince me that the Global Resorts membership will work best for my family and I. Plus I discovered after speaking to one of GRN's top sales people - Derrick Harper - that the Global Resorts Network Platinum Membership is able to be "Deeded" and "Willed" for up to 99 years from date of purchase in the event something should happen to my husband or I - Then our children or any relative can continue to utilize the membership.
That's some pretty long term thinking on part of this 20 something year old company. I'm guessing their in it for the long haul and not a short dollar.
Thanks every one for your guidance and assistance, especially you Michele.
Best,
Janelle Iverson
Janelle, just to be on the safe side please reseach all you can concerning GRN. Many people that may be glamourizing it may be an affiliate of GRN since it's a multi- level marketing business. Each affiliate that signs up a new member gets paid for doing so from what I gather.
Go to 'research forums' (top right hand corner) and also go to www.tugbbs.com and use their search feature to check out what their members have to say (very knowledgeable timeshare owners there).

Hi Janelle... I too was in your state of dilemma until my first Global Resorts Network's Vacation.... It was an awesome experience in my lifetime... I and my family had been to the Caribbean islands, we had been offered a wonderful place in a private resort. All in all, Global Resort Network is awesome.... Q] =============================================
This all appears (to me, anyhow) to be just more self-serving, thinly veiled promotional advertising for this particular multi level marketing scheme, masquerading (unconvincingly) as a forum posting. Each one of these shill posts seems to come with its own different "we're great, so contact us here...(website address)" , which RedWeek should always just delete, since such info just makes the posting an obvious advertisement.
My advice: CAVEAT EMPTOR (Buyer Beware)....
Before believing these contrived, happy exchanges between MLM participants, or think that they are actually objective observations (they aren't) ask yourself one simple question:
Why do NONE of the THOUSANDS of highly knowledgeable and long-experienced timeshare owners on long established timeshare sites like Timeshare Users Group (tug2.net) ever have any such glowing praise for this particular "product", if it's so great? Is it just a coincidence that these MLM participants choose to target a (generally, with some exceptions) much less informed and much less experienced (no disrespect intended) RedWeek audience instead? I don't think it's "just a coincidence", personally. Any such posts on TUG would be promptly cut to ribbons and shreds by the more experienced timeshare owners and users there.

If you are time sensitive in vacationing you probably will not get a reservation when you want to. Only vast flexibility might get you the vacation and not necessarily where you want to be. No membership is required for inexpensive internet offerings that will match or beat the vacation clubs' price. The only guarantee you have is to purchase an aftermarket deeded timeshare in the vacation area you prefer for a specific annual or every other year timeframe. Hey! I was just coming here to check out what anyone else has experienced with Global Resorts Network, I'm thinking about purchasing the lifetime membership at $3000... I was skeptical (to say the least) about the lifetime membership thing because so many travel businesses offer than, and then they end up dying after two years LOL. However, I did find out that they've been open since 1986 or so... so they are reliable in some regards I guess? Still slightly skeptical.....
I was pointed to this sales page (and If I'm not supposed to post links, sorry admin)... with some videos from a guy Mark Hoverson which explains all the pay plan, and the videos actually take you inside the membership to the backdoor and show the deals... pretty amazing actually?
Anywho, I think what attracts me to GRN over timeshares is 1. no point systems (which personally I hate and had to deal with in the past) 2. no annual dues 3. Only $3000 for lifetime membership 4. Every single resort, for a whole week is $298-$799 max (I just looked up their main webpage and found that... I've spent a ton of money on timeshares, and really like them... but maybe I'll go with this since it's such a huge deal.. Thoughts?
