Sheraton Vistiana or Fairfield at Bonnet Creek?

Nov 17, 2007

FAmily vacation to Disneyworld. Kids range in age from 5-10. Which would you prefer and why?

I would personally choose Fairfield at Bonnet Creek for the convenience of being the closest timeshare resort to the parks (connected to Disney property) and it's an ultra nice resort from the reviews I've read. I really don't know much about Vistana except that it has several different sections, some older, but Bonnet Creek is much newer.

Have you read the reviews here on Bonnet Creek? They are all fantastic.

I have read the reviews and I tend to agree with you. Do you have any idea what the difference is between getting to and from the parks from each? ARe they both on buses? Any Cost? Could you walk from Bonnet Creek?

I've read that Bonnet Creek provides a shuttle to all parks ... not sure of the cost, if any ... I don't know about Vistana. I don't know if you could actually walk to the Disney parks from Bonnet Creek, since the parks are spread out, but with kids ranging from 5-10 years in age, I would definitely take the shuttle. Many resorts in/around Orlando don't provide shuttle service to the parks so having one is a huge perk.

We're going to Orlando in December, and although we'll be staying in a very nice gold crown resort (Summer Bay), I would have loved to stay at Bonnet Creek with it's fantastic reviews, but that resort was not an option.

As far as going from one park to another, Disney has a very efficient monorail system that goes to all the parks.

We did stay at Bonnet Creek with our grandchildren last year ( 7 and 4 years old) during Thanksgiving the resort was fabulous. Everything for all ages, pools, mini golf, volleyball and arcade. The resort does have a shuttle service, but it ran during very specific hours, we felt it was not flexible enough especially with small kids. We also didn't want to watch the clock to make sure we met the shuttle times. We enjoyed the resort very much, we'll be returning during Christmas next year. We're also looking to buy at Bonnet Creek, but not from the developer.

Thanks for your reply. I just reserved my unit at Bonnet Creek. We are getting a 2 bedroom unit. What did you have? I am curious because we are sharing it with another family, figuring the adults can have the rooms and put kids o floor and hoping it is big enough. Also, did your grandkids participate in the kids club at the resort? ANything else we need to know. How about good restaurants near by..

We has a party of 4 adults and 2 children in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. One bedroom had two double beds, it did have a sleeper couch in the living room but we never used it. We were all very comfortable---lots of space in the unit. We did not participate in the kids club as we spent every day at the Disney Parks or Typhoon Lagoon. In the evening however we did use the mini golf and arcade room. The pools were also great. We went to a grocery store in Kissimmee, so we fixed breakfast and had snacks in the room. There was a little snack bar at Bonnet Creek that we ate at one night and it was good, but most of the time we ate at the parks. We didn't feel that it was too costly, often times we shared meals. We can never get too much of Disney!!!!
