Some of the people renting units don"t know that there is NO smoking in the units. That is very important as all of Puerto Rico is now smoke free.

I did check PUERTO RICO this is what I found January 2006: banned smoking in the workplace, including bars and casinos. Nothing about renters not allowed to smoke. not yet anyway. Wherever you rent ask for a non smoking room , most of the big chains comply to smoke free.

Smoking is onnly allowed on the balconies not in the units. This was as of March 2007 maryalice

Hi maryalice I just came back from ESJ and it is a smoke free building and so is the whole area since March 2007 when the law was passed. For those who did smoke they had an area far away from the pool ....and they also smoked on their balconies. The casino next door has a Smokers Suite now for those who enjoy a good cigar or cigarette which is accessable from outside or by the bar inside.

you now can't smoke in the units at the ESJ. Also all units have been updated with new kitchens and new bathrooms.
