Americapint.com Rip Off Beware of Chris Wood 8/13/07

I am posting this in hope that Mr. Chris Wood from Chris@americapint.com 1.888.834.7476 will contact me as quickly as he did when I posted a Redwish week ad on Redweek.com. You have my $800 and I have not received refund as promised less 10%. I've called and talked to you personally and sent several emails in past 3 weeks also sent back contract to cancel which you told me on phone you received and were sending to accounting for my refund several weeks ago. You've given me a song and dance for way to long, so I'm going to post starting 8/15/07 on every web site I can to warn people of your rip off scam. I will in detail give our phone conversations how you contacted me originally etc. You know how to contact me Mr. Wood. If anyone has had issues with Americapint.com and know who I can voice my complaint to please let me know? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! Terry Halverson

Hi Terry,

I just got off the phone with Chris and he said he has been in contact with you about the refund. He said there is a check coming to you for $720. He said it should be on it's way to you. The paperwork and actually submitting the check usually takes 2-3 weeks, he said but again it should be in the mail to you. Please let us know if you don't receive it in the next week.

Hey Marty, Thanks I'll keep my fingers crossed as Mr. Wood said I should of had it last week. When I called him yesterday he said he would check with his accounting department when he returned to his other office. Mr Wood sounds like a nice guy on "The Phone" and has accepted all my calls, so we will see if refund shows up in the next few day's. Thanks! Terry

Terry - why did you request a refund? Did you ever receive anything from them besides a contract, such as a gift certificate or a document saying the time share had been gifted to you? I'm still working with Chris - I've gotten a contract from them but not yet the gift certificate. I call him every week asking for the status (I had to do that with the initial receipt and I only got the initial contract after Marty called Chris). I haven't figured out if they are a scam or if they are just very slow and disorganized about handling the process, so I'm curious as to why you requested a refund. thanks, LIsa

Dear Marty: Is it true that everything is taken care of for Terry and Chris is re-instated on red week. If not we are out $2,000. Please get back to me as soon as possible.

I received an email from from Chris Wood that he is working on the issue with Terry. He's not too happy that I have removed his membership until this is resolved but that's the way it is. I don't know if this is a freak issue or if it's just unorganization on their part. I'd like to hear from those that have had successful dealings with Americapint.com.

It also sounds like Chris Wood has the money of SEVERAL people in his pockets. He should be banned from RedWeek until each and every one of those people (although few in number) are "made whole" by having either 100% of their money back or a 100% fulfillment of the attempted (but botched) transaction. The ban should then be extended for at least 60 days for every ONE day that goes by without resolution.

FINALLY, the FBI is getting involved arresting upfront fee resale/rental company scammers ... it's about time since they're criminals like any other common criminal.

Thank you for the information. BTW Chris Wood is not an associate of RedWeek. In 2007 he purchased a paid membership and began scamming people. His account with us was shut down as soon as we realized what he was doing. We aren't even sure that Chris Wood is his real name. The username generated when creating his account was jerryw79 which is a combination of the name that was entered when the account was created. He must have changed his name from Jerry to Chris later. We certainly hope this is the same person who was arrested.

Wow I just happened to Google Chris Wood and found he has been arrested if its the same guy. I never did receive my refund $720 or any paper work after numerous calls. He was quite slick had a voice of an older honest gentleman. I became nervous when I did not receive any paper work from him or Americap. That is why I canceled gut fealing said I would not have a Resort to stay in Honolulu Hawaii from this man. Gosh it's been 4 years since he scammed me I will try and contact the Greenwich CT FBI as posted above. Please keep in mind this has No reflection on Red Week as I chose by my ignorance to let Mr. Wood Scam me.

I'm not sure this is the same person who was scamming people on RedWeek. The name that was used on RedWeek was Chris Woods and the person who was arrested is Chris Wood. Honestly, I don't think Chris Woods was his real name back then in 2007 on RedWeek. The scammers hardly ever use their real names.
