extra weeks

Is this really a site? I tried to pull up extraweeks.uk.co and also com, but I received a message that there is no such. I'm just curious. I have never heard of them.

Hi, I too have been approached on the telephone. They asked a lot of personal questions such as my date of birth and that of my spouse. This made me very uneasy and I began to become suspicious. I approached RCI who said that Extraweeks had no connection with them. They also said that some organisations have been offering bookings to people, taking the money and then no paperwork comes through. There may be some truth in that but I also felt that there was some of "they would say that, wouldn't they" of new competition.
I don't know from where they got my name. I will contact my resort and ask them if they know of these people, and I suggest you do the same with your resort. Perhaps then we could then compare notes.
Extraweeks do have a (UK) tel No which is 0800 198 2006. I have tried this and got someone who answered with the co name of "Extraweeks".
The website looks professional but seems too much like that of RCI for my liking.

All indications are that this is a European based outfit and it looks like either a scam or a come-on for a timeshare presentation. Calling themselves "Extra Weeks" immediately brings suspicion as they seem to be copying the name from one of RCI's site rental groups. Their requests for personal information are unacceptable and unnecessary. I would advise anyone not to deal with them or give them any information.

Much to my cost, I have found out in detail about Extraweeks. I paid my money in the hope of top quality 5* accommodation. What a mistake!!!!! They are based in Alicante. The first thing I found was that when I requested a refund because my documentation had not arrived they told me in no uncertain terms that they DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS. The documentation arrived eventually so I tried to cut my losses by booking a week in a top hotel in Malta which is on their list. I wanted to go in November and the sales girl had told me that any request could be met provided I gave them at least 6 weeks notice. The reality was that they had no availabilty for the rest of this year in that hotel as it was very popular but that they had two other hotels which were available. Neither were of 5* star rating - both being 3*- and for each of them we HAD TO TAKE AN UPGRADE package (UPGRADE to 3*????) which would cost us £50 per person. Needless to say I declined. They promise absolute top quality accommodation at places all over the world but when we tried booking a week at one resort in Cornwall we were told it had been flooded and was not available but we were also informed that all weeks!!! in the UK were only mini breaks. Finally, we got our free flight and accommodation vouchers for European City Breaks which have the requirements of £40 per person admin fee and you have to give 4 alternative locations and 4 alternative dates of travel ie. no guarantees at all as to where you go or when you travel. This whole firm is a joke and I encourage you to tell all your friends not to give them any opportunity to rip you off. John B

We have just returned from a holiday at Club Albufeira arranged by Extraweeks.co.uk. their pictures do look great but when you get to the site you are in a building site, the shop is a timber shed. We arrived in the evening due to a thunderstorm at Gatwick. Guess what, the shop was shut. so no cup of tea or a beer there then so we went to the accommodation, it was really bad, two bunk beads built into the wall in the passage & the main bed was a put u up in the lounge. there was even a crane at the bottom of the garden to look out onto. Guess what, we didn't even unpack the bags, went back to speak to reception, they seemed very uninterested & had no other rooms so we went of to find another place to stay which turned out to be great. when we went back the next morning as suggested, the boss was not there as agreed so we went back on Monday & spoke to a Andy who claimed to be a Director, with his attitude which was very aggressive saying it was nothing to do with them as it was booked through Extra Weeks. We rang them & were told they do not offer a refund as they do not have a refund policy, tell all your friends how unhelpful they all are

According to your description, you had a Studio unit: Sleeps 4 with sofa bed and bunk beds plus a mini-kitchen. Does that sound about right? Too bad it didn't look better to you in the morning. New construction can be annoying. (At least I assume that is what the crane was there for!) Imagine you were anticipating at least a one bedroom place after coming so far. we had been contacted by this company just before Christmas .
I rang II who had never heard of them and when they rang back I told them it was not for me. they then adopted a more aggressive sales technique, when I declined their "offer" they said I had to give a reason.
I gave no reason, the woman then said if I didn't give a reason I couldn't be taken off their system. I told her that harrassment charges woulkd follow any further attempts to contact me. we own at an II resort and I would advise eveyone to use only their system of extra weeks for this purpose

Unless you signed a contract and submitted a deposit, the point is moot .... there is nothing else they can do since there's no papertrail whatsoever.

I have just been contacted by Darrel at Extraweeks offering B.O.G.O.F for £199.00 in a 5* accomodation, iam tempted, but after reading some these letters -- i was also assured that there is no hard sell of any type of time share only the normal "get together in the morning with the reps " i suppose this is rubbish too, anyone got anything good to say about Extra weeks ?

We to have been bombarded with calls from a older lady, sounding of course very genuine! The deal buy 2 weeks just about anywhere for £199. To be used within 3 years or they may stretch to 4!! I was about to send the money when I came across this forum. E are regulary getting calls re extra weeks, some have been genuine, and some?? How can we know?
Any view welcomed.

While I know nothing whatsoever about this particular outfit, I will nonetheless freely observe that no respectable, established, legitimate agency ever needs to take to the phones to market and peddle its' timeshare products. I'm confident that this observation is equally true and accurate on BOTH sides of the Atlantic.
My advice? Run, run away...

We were approached by them last year & went to Club Albufera in Portugal, Luckily we had hired a car at the airport or we would have been stuck. The place was a building site, the hovel we were sent to was a disgrace. the bed was a filthy put-u-up in the lounge, there were extra bunks built into the wall in the passage, A crane in the garden at the back of the unit. the shop was a timber shed that was shut so we could not even make a cup of tea. we went to reception, they were not helpful as no one around to make decisions as to changing the unit, the ones on the website are for owners not people they want to sell a new time share to. we went into Albufera & found a beautiful hotel for the week. when we went back on the Sfollowing morning we were told to go back next day on the Monday as the boss would be there then. We did this, What an obnoxious man he was, Very aggressive & said it was all down to the booking agents who are working on behalf of Extra Weeks, !!!!!! See how they get away with it. they all blame each other. we have sent letter, made phone calls, we are still getting calls from their sales staff to try to sell us an extra week, each time we tell them the story, the promis to look into it & will get someone to call us back. THEY NEVER DO. they seem to be a company of very ill repute that I would not recommend an enemy of mine to visit anywhere with them.

Thank goodness for this forum! I have just been phoned and pressured to take up their offer - even went so far as to offer me a european mini break with free flights for up to 6 people as well as the free week world wide! I was adamant I would not give credit card details over the phone and finally the woman agreed to email me something. However having checked up here I shall consign it to junk and not answer the phone again.
