how to rent safely a timeshare for holidays?

Hi, I live abroad and I want to rent a timeshare direct from owner duringo holidays, but I don't know how to proceed. I'm worried because Orlando would gonna be overcrowded and if something goes wrong I would have no place to stay. Thanks, Sergio
