Renter/Seller feedback
I for one would like to see some type of feedback system on this site. As I've stated in other posts I rent about twice a year and unless someone I've previously rented from has something available I'm going in blind. I'm sure the ones who rent to me would also like to see if I'm a trustworthy renter. (I am :-) ) There has been discussion about scammers etc and this would hopefully solve any of those problems also? Sort of a Redweek eBay thing :)

In the future I would have a rental contract drawn up. You can draw up one yourself or you can download one from www.tstoday.com and use it for all your rentals.
You could also use an escrow service. I believe Redweek uses American Title if you should want to go that route.

I AM A NEW MEMBER TO REDWEEK. MY HUSBAND AND I DO HAVE A TIMESHARE IN COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA. I SEE WHERE SOMEONE HAS LISTED A REDWISH FOR THIS AREA. HOW DO WE GET STARTED IN ATTEMPTING TO RENT OUR TIMESHARE AND COMMUNICATING WITH THIS PERSON?FIRST TIME FOR US AND DON'T WANT TO GET SCAMMED. WE ARE RCI MEMBERS. WHERE DO WE START?

Lisa, as a RedWeek.com member you can send an email through their RedWish page. Start up a dialog with them and see if you can help one another. Remember, that in order for them to have posted a RedWish, they also had to become a paid member of RedWeek.com and also paid another fee to post the RedWish so they are most likely for real. We also recommend that the owner and renter use a Vacation Rental Escrow Service to help with the transaction and help protect both parties. More about one service can be found at this link http://www.redweek.com/help/rental_process/escrow
Good luck, Marty

Lisa, I notice your message was over a year ago. What has been your experience for renting your Cocoa Beach resort since you wrote? My husb. & I just purchased 2 wks. at "The Resort on Cocoa Beach" and want to rent out a couple weeks in 2009. We're new to this too, as this is our 1st timeshare. Thanks.

is there a feedback system yet? I have 1200 HGVC points that someone would like to use tomorrow... it happens too soon to use escrow, plus it's only $250. If I could see feedback on the renter, I would feel much safer taking payment by paypal or other transfer. I'm sure she'd feel the same about me. Thanks! Laurie

Hi Laurie,
No, we don't have a customer feedback system in place. About the only thing I can suggest is to contact RedWeek at support@redweek.com and let us know the person's name and username then we can check to see if there are any negative comments on their RedWeek account.
Thank you, Marty
