Availablity of Trendwest Units
Hi, We have been Worldmark owners since 1994 and we have never had a problem getting the resort we want. That being said, be aware that we are planners and we usually book the full 13 months out. Bonus time is not as easy as it used to be and I am sure it will get more difficult once Trendwest institutes their Travelshare program. Even though the resorts are owned by Worldmar, somehow Trendwest still has fingers in the pie with 5 of the 6 Worldmark Board members either working for or recently left Trendwest. I wouldn't not recommend someone buy into Worldmark because it is great to have a lovely place to go on vacation. However, with the institution of Travelshare, they are no longer letting resale ownerships to be included into their "TS" levels of ownership. Those who join TS will get more perks than normal owners, but you have to buy an additional 5,000 credits from the developer (Trendwest) and then pay yearly dues,$ amt. depends on your total credit ownership. We only own 6,000 credits and we won't be joining Travelshare. Listen to the salesman with a VERY broad mind and believe about 1/3 of what he says. The believable part is how wonderful the resorts are. And, you will be able to get into just about any resort as long as you can book early. There are exceptions of course, but for example, the Oregon coast, Washington coast and Hawaii book very early. TRhere is bonus time to be had on the coasts but it takes a lot of time watching for it. We don't plan any visits for a while because there is a no pet policy and we have a little Yorkie pup and we love her more than vacations right now.

We started with TrendWest, converted to TravelShares, and now would like to buy more regular WorldMark "credits/points" -- but they won't be TravelShares will they?
(1) Would TravelShares and points be in two separate accounts? (2) Would Wyndham entice me to convert the spare points to TravelShares? (3) Any other comment on the TravelShare vs Points thing would be appreciated. Thank you
