I've been thinking of requesting an exchange to Harborside which looks absolutely awesome. I see a meal plan is mandatory. Does anyone one know what they are and the $$. Thanks.,

This new years week I will be traviling to Atlants for the fourth time, I am an owner and love it. It is not mandatory that you purchase a meal plan.

Thanks so much. I read somewhere that it was mandatory and sure am glad it is not. I hope I can get an exchange there. I love Paradise Island and have ventured through Atlantis several times in awe each time.

Hmmm...anybody know the BEST time to vacation at this resort? We like to travel off season but we are concerned about running into hurricane season. Are we safe in late October? Say, week no 43 or 44? I noted that at least 1 unit is being offered right now here at redweek for $286.00/ nite for 7 nites from 10-20 to 10-27-07. Appreciate any thoughts!

We went to Harborside in October a few years ago and the weather was wonderful. Much hotter than our usual week 9 in March. There's a good chance for bad weather just like this time of year in the Carolinas or Florida, but the chances are not too great. Providence and Paradise Islands see many fewer bad storms than some of the othe Islands of the Bahamas because it's a little more protected by outer islands.

Thanks Shirley...I think! By saying that there is a good chance for bad weather but the chances are not too great you certainly helped me out! LOL! And that comment that there are many fewer bad storms made me feel a whole lot better too! LOL! For the hefty rent that is being asked for this place I gotta be real certain that my very hard earned money won't get "washed away", if you know what I mean! But I am appreciative of the fact that you had at least 1 great getaway in October to speak of. Hot is good! Thanks for your response. Anybody else have experience with the Harborside in late October or early November?

I have been to Atlantis the past five years, four of those times in October. Fall is the best weather, not overly hot but 80's every day. Also, the Resorts is not crowded and it is easy to get a pool chair and you do not have to wait in line at the restaurants. As for Haroborside, I've stayed in all the towers and the villas, the harborside is the most comfortable. Don't let the remote chance of a passing storm keep you from going in October, it's the best time of year in my opinion.

Hi daddyd. What I meant was, you may have a rainy day. A real rainy day. But, your week won't be a washout. There's plenty to do inside if you do your homework. I check the weekly forecast the day before we leave Ohio and if it says there's a 50% chance of rain, they may get it on a nearby island and miss Paradise Island all together. The girls at the front desk at Harborside will be able to give you a weather update daily by 7am. We love the place. Hope you do too.

To answer the questions about October and the weather, My wife and I got married at the Atlantis in October. We stayed at our timeshare at the Harborside for a week. During the whole time we were there, it rained for a total of 10 minutes on a Friday morning. We had number of people that came down for the wedding and they all had a great time. It was a great time of the year because it wasn't crowded, easy to get a chair at the pool. Hope that helps.

We are owners at Harborside. I believe Oct is a hurricane season. Doesn't mean you will have one... but mid August through Nov. is hurricane season. You can check further on www.google.com - Request info on Nassau Paradise Island Weather for those months Harborside is awesome. Christmas holidays are the most expensive. We've done Easter. Lovely-very crowded. We go summers - if you like heat and humidity it's great. We love it.

Thanks very much for that info, patriciagayle! Hope we get lucky and attract an offer to exchange at Harborside. We have a Christmas Week at the Vistana in Orlando in a 2BR 2BA Villa posted for exchange up on the Red Wishes Board right now, just in case anybody has any interest!

when you rent a timeshare off redweek.com does the price include the all inclusive meals or do you purchase the meals separately?

Hi Jeanette,

You would probably need to contact the owners to ask this question. Some do and some don't. Many of the details area of each posting will have that information in it.

Thanks, Marty

Hi I/Q. Meal plans are NOT mandatory. They simply make your reservations easier and the $ depends on the restaurant which varies from the casino restaurant which is the only one still permitting smoking, to Murray's Deli where the average entree is 15 to 22 to the Dunes; a gourmet restaurant where the average dinner for two will run about $l00.00. You can look at the list and make reservations there but you may not get in the nights you want to. You can call and ask for a list of restaurants at the owners no. in Fla and choose from there. Some restaurants you won't be able to get in at all if you don't make advance reservations but we choose to do that when we're there. Market ST. Buffett is $40.00 a person. The major restaurants usually run $50.00 a person because all food is imported. Hope this helps. Lyons312

We're owners at Harborside for 7 years. October is a gamble. It may be beautiful or hurricane. We were there only once during a hurricane (Oct) and frankly, I loved it. You're always safe at the Atlantis and at Harborside. The Casino works, the entertainment continues only the usual beachside activities are null for that period. The palm trees sway and it was a beautiful albeit unexpected experience. Lyons312
