We also paid in full when we made our purchase and duly received the deed. We are not US residents and our knowledge of the NY legal system, is, at best, very sketchy. Can anyone tell how do we go about finding out the status of our unit.

ACRIS is an acronym for the search site for NYC real property records. Go here: http://www1.nyc.gov/site/finance/taxes/acris.page, follow the link to "begin using ACRIS" and do your search. You are then presented with the option to "search property records" which is what you want to do. You can search by legal description or by name. I searched by name since I was too lazy to look up my legal and I have an unusual name. If your name is John Smith, you'd better find your legal. So, just enter the search parameters and a list of recorded documents will appear. I just checked mine, and bit surprise, the mortgage is still of record.

You can also just look it up by your name.

does anyone in this redweek forum, especially a legally-savvy, or better yet, AN ATTORNEY, have the expertise to at least summarize where THE NEW YORK STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL VS THE MANHATTAN CLUB TIMESHARE CASE is at this time? there appears to be so much mystery and clandestine issues occurring that i'm not sure even the principals in the law suit know what's happening.

there must be SOMEONE PARTICIPATING IN THIS FORUM who can give us all some pertinent information that the NYSAG hasn't been willing to share regarding the law suit. WE OWNERS DESERVE THIS INFORMATION TO HELP US FORM OUR OWN STRATEGIES IN DEALING WITH THE POSSIBLE OUTOMES OF THIS CASE.

I'm no legal eagle. Wasser is probably the one who could give the best status (I'm not one of his clients). But whatever is happening internal to each side's attorney's offices isn't ever going to be made public. And whatever the judge is or isn't doing will not be public until she decides something. The silence IS VERY FRUSTRATING, but until something is filed or decided, waiting is the only option.

The caller didn't give his company name, but a Google search of the number came up with Universal Resort Exchange http://www.urexchangeonline.com/ What is strange is that he initially called us at an unlisted private work number. Here is the voice message he left... "Yes my name is Jared Hayes and I was calling in reference to your timeshare property with the Manhattan club. And due to multiple request coming in for your location right now. I was giving you a courtesy call to do maybe an interest in renting out any of your unused time or interest in selling your timeshare property quickly. If so call me back. My number here is 855-420-8289. My extension here is 410. Have a great day."

Probably want you to give an upfront fee to list and then you never hear from them again.

They have a C- rating from the BBB. They have had 7 complaints in the last 5 years, 5 of them in the last 12 months.

Have you guys realized that nothing moves forward untill people really really start pushing it forward? Like a car broke to the highway.. Doesnt move by itself. Needs a big one (car) to get it out of there.. To get it moved. That's what my english skills are all about. But I'm sure people smart enough also understand that not everyone speaks same language in this world, and it doesn't make those folk any stupider.. Its more the opposite.. They do speak more than one language even I those other ones are not so good ones. I have tried.. Tried.. And once more tried to tell here something so unbelievable.. The story of RHC membership as European (maybe one and only, but..). I have noticed no one cares. Maybe because its so out of head.. Or maybe because I just can't use correct words (my vocabulary is limited). Anyway.. Seems like in this business when things happen like also tho TMC, its nothing but circulating the air.. No one really are interested on your case. Like there was no right existing for members on these cases?? I do wonder a lot.. And I see right publicity also as the answer, but from here by myself I dont know how to do it. You guys instead can.. You can start pushing that car..

To correct.. You folk can start pushing that car for real.. You have pushed, pushed and once more pushed but there hasn't been power enough to get than car movin I'm sure you guys know the power of media. sure Eichner etc guys would hate such publicity.

Has this suit been going on from 2011? Does it really take years to get any progress? Also that's why I see media a strong tool, I hope I could use it too..

In my eyes TMC/ Eichner etc. guys in charge seem some kind of clowns.

I really wonder also that suit.. Is AG getting paid for years etc?

As far as I understand, TMC means double selling to your guys.. For overpriced..

Maybe i havent understood everything correct here, fast reading the topic, but i do see sine point.. Similarities.. Fraudulent business scenario on these.

I wish my English was more understandable, but RHC case of mine is something proves things in this business are totally wrong generally. Its a matter of business fraud too with tax havens used, fake/drawer companies etc etc.

RHC means criminals to me, because I was scammed also big at Wyndham Bahamas. I'd like to show in public my contract.. Sort bout spoiling this topic with my story, but case of mine is a total.. My money was stolen by banning me. These cases just amazes me. Still no guarantee members win the case?

Yes, this case against TMC is deeply frustrating and expensive and disrespectful of us owners. It seems most have found a way to cope by complaining to TMC until their time is granted, exchanging their time through another company like RCI or SFX, or simply refusing to pay maintenance fees and taking a chance on what consequences that may have. I have no better suggestion for your very legitimate complaint, but wanted you to know that it is not your language or your citizenship that is the problem. It is an apparently criminal American business and a dysfunctional and perhaps corrupt American legal system. As an American, I am embarrassed for us and want you to know I am sorry we seem no better able to get things fixed than we have been.

I understand how frustrating also your case with TMC is.

With me it shouldn't be a language and citizenship issue, but it is. Its so frustrating when you wont get any help in your own country with your own language.

Therefore I have written and written.. with no avail either. And my writings are not so nice ones what becomes to RHC case of mine. They were so unbelievable rude, so got really pissed off. But mostly I tell the truth in my writings. My money was stolen in a way tells a big fraud in this business.

What the real fraud also is in my case is that I got one letter (only took as another threatening letter) from Attorney Florida! It was quite a ling time ago, but the content also was unbelievable.. RHC is not any US business, shouldn't be anything to do it with US but instead I believe it is. A secret.

Yes chrisv126, that's my point by dubbing them clowns 😊. Many rich people are clowns because how they make their money, of course they are smart to manage to do so, but clowns too when name of the game is revealed.

Why do we assume that the Attorney General is not seeking relief for aggrieved MHC owners?

The AG is seeking restitution for the 5000 allegedly defrauded “students” at Trump University, so why not for us? Here’s what was reported yesterday at gawker.com.

“No one, no matter how rich or famous they are, has a right to scam hardworking New Yorkers,” Schneiderman said in a statement. “ [regarding Trump University] … a state judge has ruled that Trump is personally liable for damages, to be determined at a later time, resulting from the fact that Trump University lacked the required licenses. Trump’s lawyers have been ordered to take depositions from about 5,000 former students for whom the attorney general is seeking restitution.
