I will not be able to attend the meeting. I am a current owner and have been for 15 years. Stuck with the outrageous fees. I am currently trying to donate it. with more trouble for 2 years! Put me on the concerned owners list. Ellen Adamson ellen@elktalk.com Thanks Ellen
E. A.
My Name is Marco Monsalve, I've commented several times, submitted information to the AG and have been following the discussion. Unfortunately I will be out of the country and not be able to attend the meeting on the 2nd. My e-mail is mmonsalve@mcmanis-monsalve.com, please add me to the list of concerned owners. Thank you
Marco M.
it might be advantageous for all concerned to have a venue in midtown, nyc selected asap, somewhere on the west side: w 50 through w 56 sts on b'way, 7 or 8 aves. this will make it easier for many to plan ahead and save the time and date to attend the august 2 meeting. even some of the side street hotels in the midtown area might have meeting rooms available.
these possible meeting sites are convenient via car, cab, walking or public transportation (or a combination thereof.) keep in mind that reduced rate parking is available to owners in the parking garage across from the manhattan club on w 56 st.

I live in California so I'm unable to attend the August 2nd meeting. Like several owners, I found out after completing the survey by doing research. This is how I came upon redweek. Prior to that I was clueless and even planned on paying this year's maintenance fees. Owner since 2005. Same story. Luckily, thanks to all of you, I didn't pay. I've been readings everyone's messages. Please add me to the list of owners who are aware, but can't attend.

I would like to join the class action lawsuit. I've been an owner at the Manhattan Club since 1996 and have owned as many as 3 weeks at a time, a junior suite, a one bedroom, and a penthouse suite. How do I join? Cliff Tabor 6464 Wayfinders Ct. Carlsbad, CA 92011 619-654-4201 clifftabor@hotmail.com

Hello my name is Steve Struhs and I've been an owner at the Manhattan club since 2007, I just heard about this lawsuit in May and completed the Attorney General form. We cannot attend the meeting on 8/2, but please add us to the list of people who cannot attend. My email is Steve@tbcconsoles.com. Thank you,
Steve S.
I just called the Manhattan Club and spoke to Valerie. She tells me there are no more tickets available for the Aug. 4th meeting. Please note, the meeting is on the 4th, not the 2nd as has been stated repeatedly on this forum. She said there's not enough room at the venue and I told her she should get a bigger venue. She offered to put me on a waiting list and I refused. Let's see what happens next. Harryet Ehrlich harryete@optonline.net

what a joke: it's bad enough that there's the infamous wait list for making reservations at the MC...................now there's a froggy wait list for reservations for OUR OWN MEETING. WHAT KIND OF NONSENSICAL CIRCUMSTANCE IS THIS? THE MC MUST MAKE ROOM FOR ALL THOSE SHAREOWNERS INTERESTED IN ATTENDING THIS MEETING. THIS IS SOMETHING ELSE THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHOULD PUT INTO HIS AMMUNITION BUNKER...FOR HIS ONGOING LAWSUIT AGAINST THE MANHATTAN CLUB. IF SHAREOWNERS ARE PUT ON A WAIT LIST FOR ADMISSION TO THIS (SHAREOWNERS') MEETING, THEY COULD POSSIBLY BE DENIED ENTRANCE IF A SHAREOWNER WITH A RESERVATION LETTER DOESN'T CANCEL. ALL SHAREOWNERS ARE ALL LEGALLY ENTITLED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING, ESPECIALLY IF THEY MAKE THEIR INTENTION TO ATTEND KNOWN THIS EARLY PRIOR TO THE AUGUST 4 MEETING DATE. THIS GIVES THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MORE-THAN- SUFFICIENT NOTICE TO CHANGE THE VENUE TO ACCOMMODATE THE NUMBER OF SHAREOWNERS WHO ARE ENTITLED AND WANT TO ATTEND.
also harryet1, there IS an AUGUST 2 MEETING scheduled for shareowners ONLY sponsored by the NATIONAL TIMESHARE OWNERS' ASSN, JEFF FROM REDWEEK.COM AND THE TIMESHARE OWNERS' MAGAZINE. the venue hasn't been set yet, but from what i am aware of, it will be somewhere in midtown manhattan, i expect in the 40's or 50's on the westside (probably not far from the manhattan club.) IT IS NOT SPONSORED BY ANY MEANS, BY THE MANHATTAN CLUB. it is strictly for shareowners, and i understand timeshare experts will be there to offer shareowners guidance regarding maintenance fees, reservation and other issues pertinent to our issues against TMC. save the date, SUNDAY, AUGUST 2, 2015. MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ATTEND....ALSO TO ATTEND THE MANHATTAN CLUB ANNUAL MEETING ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2015 WITH THE MC BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
PLEASE DON'T CONFUSE THESE MEETING DATES.
keep in touch

Hello Cliff: there is no class action lawsuit at this time. The only "case" ongoing is the NY AG's investigation of possible wrongdoing at Manhattan Club. The AG is investigating multiple issues involving owners. However, there is no lawsuit at this time; just an investigation that has been going on for almost two years. RedWeek will keep you posted of any new developments.

Please add me to the list of possible class action suit. I bought in the early 90's. Have not been able to get reservations though trying to book 5-6 months ahead. Therefore forfeiting time, yet paying constant rising of maintenance costs. I have not paid the last 2 yr's costs, and have been told I would go into foreclosure & my credit will be affected. Is anyone else in my position? I now live in Fl, and difficult to travel, so cannot accept last minute reservations, after being on wait list for several months. Joyce D

I'd be in favor of having the option of seeing the August 2 meeting streamed live on the web. Doing a trip for a meeting is possible for me, but I can put the travel time to better use. And my bet is that we will have a lot more people participating if it is available on the web. pghughes1@verizon.net

RE: Streaming. Streaming to the web will require that we owners are online at the time of the meeting. It would probably be impractical for the session to be multi-way, or interactive with the streamed-to audience (although not impossible using something like Meerkat). But it still would require owner presence in REAL TIME. I'm suggesting 'simply' recording the session an uploading it to YOUTUBE, where owners could watch it WHENEVER. You don't need to have any special software for YOUTUBE. The sponsors of the meeting could find one of their staff that has a youtube account (free), they can upload it, set it as "unlisted" so that only those who have the link can see it. The sponsors can send the link to whomever they believe should have access to the meeting's contents. The sponsors could also "just" put the AUDIO portion (blur the video, or point to the speakers only, or screen (if graphics or powerpoint is going to be used) - - if people are skittish about being seen on video). I think that, in this way, the proceedings and the information can be distributed to the most owners EVENTUALLY, although not in real time. I'd gladly wait days or weeks to observe the meeting since I can't be there.

Unfortunatly I cannot attend the 2 August Meeting,as I live in Argentina .I am owner since 1998 of a full 1 bedroom at TMC.I agree with all the group about the huge cost of maintenance fee. Please keep me updated about future actions according about the AG Investigation thank u ,Maria Jose

This is sound advice and good counsel. The RW-TST-NTOA Aug. 2 meeting is an informational session for TMC owners, not a protest meeting or gripe session. It is not affiliated with the Aug. 4 association meeting hosted by TMC. The primary difference is this: ours is open with all subjects open for discussion; theirs is closed and already shutting down on attendance from owners. We encourage all those who attend the Aug. 2 public meeting to also attend the TMC meeting so you can voice your opinions to those people who claim to be in charge of TMC operations.
