You never pay a realtor money upfront to sell your home. They get paid when the house is sold. Timeshares are real estate. You don't pay until it is sold. Only a licensed realtor is authorized to sell real estate. The others are scammers especially the ones that require an " upfront fee ".

And their commission comes out of the proceeds of the sale. The seller doesn't put out any money out of his pocket.

You all have completely gotten of track. Now you are talking about real estate transactions. No wonder you make the post you do you can't keep on topic and the original topic had nothing to question about how real estate transaction are handled. No wonder you don't get it you can't even remember what the discussion was about.

Frustrated that we thought we would get help to sell our time share and that never happened or we were not contacted again. Then professional advocate scammed us in hoping to get back some from trying to sell timeshare. No we have been scammed by both. I tried to call the number given and no one answers -just frustrating.

I can't figure out what it is you can't figure out .... timeshares ARE real estate. When you buy a timeshare via signing a legally binding contract that contract is then listed in property records in the county where the resort is located, taxed by the county and the contract is in your name forever or until it is transferred out of your name.

It's quite evident that you don't know doodly squat about the subject of timeshares.

It's very simple that they don't want to talk about the truth. The shills come in here trying to pitch their scams and when you hit them with facts and logic they try to divert your attention to something else so they can pitch their scams.

donp - that is a funny comment. If you can remember past yesterday the topic was about paying a company to help recover losses to timeshare resale companies. Then I am told I don't get it. You have changed the subject to trying to explain to me timeshares are real estate. I never even brought up about timeshare or real estate transaction you posters did that and then say I don't understand. You are the ones that can't handle the truth because if you could you would accept the facts, accept that people should be responsible for their own actions and stop running off at the mouth crying like little girls. I gave donp facts and he calls me a 'shill' because he can't handle the truth. Read all the post and try to stay on the original topic - unless of course you want to start a new topic then we can discuss that. I giggle when I read what is posted because I have been in and out of all these circumstances so I know first hand about buying selling a house, a timeshare, trying to sell a timeshare, getting ripped off, using a company to get some money back one time but couldn't the second time and have done this - period. What I say I say from personal experience and you post stuff that doesn't make any sense. However you win....I am going to stop because you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.....oops....you all probably don't even know what that means. See ya.......have fun.

It's most evident that you're a shill for some bogus timeshare advocate entity that does nothing but send bogus info for $275. There's no entity on earth that can magically get one out of a signed legally binding contract, period. People are smarter than you think .... that's the reason you're leaving this discussion since you're getting nowhere with your shill operation.

Us regular posters can spot a shill in a NY minute that comes to the forums trying to advertise their scams.

Jayjay you're wasting your time arguing with the shill. She hasn't given one fact just jibberish that a usual shill does to avoid the facts. I want the shill to explain how this phony advocate can undue a legal binding contract. As you notice she won't answer one simple question instead she rambles on like a scammer.

There is not ONE SINGLE PERSON involved in the selling, reselling, "relief", etc of timeshares or "vacation club" schemes who is not a crook (regardless of the legality of what they are doing). The sooner people realize this the better.

None of us are going to get just and ethical "relief" until we put enough pressure on the legislatures in our respective states to change the laws and regulations which make these kind of predatory scams legal.

Our failure to do so makes us all collectively guilty of enabling these despicable, greedy, @$$holes to continue to victimize those whose only sin was gullibility.

I'll just let you guys continue to spar while I'll share my experience. My elderly mother was contacted by this company and when she thought it sounded like a great idea, the company asked her to send a picture of one of her blank personal checks so they could just pull $$ out of her bank acct on their own. $1,150 later, my mom still has not received ANYTHING back from previous timeshare scammers and has been scammed yet again by TheProAdvocate.com! My mom is a pushover and she's on every scammers list! We have had to change her phone # 3 times!

I was victimized also, both by 3 resale outfits and "the Pro-fessional Advocate." TPA's materials were inaccurate and not usable and, whe there were "corrected" there were still not usable." I disputed the charge on my American Express card multiple times. They went to court, AMEX, and this time I was required to pay the fee. I am out that money for useless materials from TPA plus an attorney's fee. Hard lesson. I eventually paid an outfit to take the Timeshares off my hands (another partial scam.) Diane Reuler

I have spent the past 12 months trying to get answers from The Professional Advocate located in St. Petersburg FL. To say that this has been frustrating would be a gross understatement. After paying them $580.00 in "up front fees" for their "self-help" package I have no success in getting any straight answers to my inquiries. In fact, I have called them a total of 47 times over the past year and have received a grand total of 4 return calls. I suspect that my calls are being "screened" to avoid speaking to me directly. Without exception, I get a recorded message telling me "how important my call is to them" and insuring me that they will call me back. It just doesn't happen. The times they did happen to answer my call, I was told that "they would have to call corporate" and they said that they would get back to me in 15 minutes. What a surprise...still waiting!! On 7/14/2015 the representative finally gave me a number for "Bob" in corporate. I called him and got the same recording with a promise to call me back as soon as possible. He did call back and accused me of being less that a gentleman" I guess because I wanted some answers. In summary, I have NEVER received any refund ( I was assured last September that I could expect that refund very soon and as soon as 30 days following my mailing of the paperwork The Professional Advocate had sent me). This is just another RIP-OFF relating to the timeshare industry. My advice...DON'T SEND THEM A DIME unless you have money you want to throw away.

Does anyone out there know about a company called The Professional Advocate. They claim to go after companies who take your money to rent or sale your timeshare but never do anything for you . They charge $275 , but they say they make the companies that they are going after pay you back the fee so you are really out no money. i need to kno if anyone else has had any dealing with them are they legit. thanks
