General Discussion

Anyone have any dealings with Innovative Timeshare Resorts or Innovative Resorts International

Nov 09, 2010

I have contacted the company's customer service on numerous occasions requesting to cancel with them and asking for a refund of the $1999. Innovative Resorts International in Jericho New York is A subsidiary of Innovative Brands as is Innovative Resorts International in Florida. The Jericho New York Branch received a better business bureau score of "F." because of their negative responses to customers.

I certainly have. I'm still waiting for them to do something. Have contacted so many times and still no money back. I also have $1,999 coming because of Creative Vacation Solutions who also went by the wayside. I sympathize!

I was contacted today. Anything out of the blue sounds fishy to me, and this was outta the blue. They claimed they had a contract on a timeshare I had listed 3 yrs ago with Time Shares Int'l. When I challenged them as legit, they provided me the website for Florida Attn Gen office - conveniently closed on Saturdays. They wanted upfront $2900 for Title work, to be refunded upon closing. In normal fee simple (my time share is); title work is not/NOT paid in advance. This is what tripped my trigger. I'll be talking to the FL Attorney General's office on Monday.

Hope this helps. I'm not having good feelings here.

Your gut feeling is right on the money .... they have no buyer or the supposed buyer will back out when they get your $2900 but the money is not refunded to you.

You are right in reporting them to the Fl AG.

This company is a scam. If you look at the fine print on their online contracts, Paragraph 5 states "I understand that my credit card was charged and will show up on my next billing statement. To cancel this contract within two business days of credit card transaction you must send written notification by certified mail. Non-Cancellation; charge is non-disputable, non-refundable, credit card statement will reflect Innovative."

This is NOT how reputable companies do business!!

You have 60 days to dispute the charge with your credit card company .... the info they sent you was an out and out lie ..... BUT what can you expect from scammers and thieves.

Thanks for the information about Innovative. Does anyone know of an advocacy group to help get out from the weight of ownership? Thank you.

You can offer to give it away and pay all closing costs, but if the timeshare/week you own isn't within the high demand category, that may not even work ..... as far as I know there is no legitimate advocacy group to help get rid of a timeshare ownership.

I was conned by innovative for 999.00 However I did not sign my contract and am working with my credit card co to get my money back. Guess what they all of a sudden called and said they had a buyer again and did not need more money but were sending out new papers probably new contract not an offer for purchase. we will see. I will be shocked if I would get a real offer. My Time share is in Branson french quarter

We have shopped this company and they are a scam. You need to report this to the Florida Bureau. If you go to www.ltrba.com and click on file a complaint you will have the proper places to go. The only way to stop this is to keep reporting it and keep informing the public so they won't be taken up in the scam.

If you are buying, I have a deal for you :) I just had my first call from Innovative Resorts Int'l. They 'acquired' my number from Time Share Registry. Interesting I read that someone's credit card info was transferred too. What happened to PCI compliance with these companies? Short answer - they are all frauds. I'm acting on behalf of my elderly mother who has been taken advantage of by several of these scammers. There are no buyers. Period. The fad of buying time was a good one - caught a lot of people with dreams of resort living in their sales pitches and now we all know that it is a crock and that is why they don't sell. Keep your credit card in your pocket and tell these bozo's to hit the road when they call.

Report these people www.ltrba.com click on file a complaint. The agencies are trying to shut all of them down. We are working with them and are letting them know of names, locations etc as we get them. So please file a complaint. You might even get your money back.

My question for you is this Did you actually sign a contract with Innovative Resorts? I f you did sign one, it is my clear understanding that no refund will be give before 120 days after the contract has been initiated. Have the 120 days passed and yous still have not received a refund or are you still within the 120 days of the contract?

I too have been scammed by Innovative. They told me that they had a buyer that was qualified and just waiting to get signed. They sent the contract and it turns out that it was only for listing the timeshare. I had specifically stated that I did not want to list so I immediately asked to cancel and was ignored. The credit card company would not help with getting a refund so I have notified the BBB but they have told me that I did not give them enough information so they are not going to accept my complaint. Interesting?

I was able to get my credit card company to take the charge off my bill and resind the credit to Inovative . I spoke to the fraud dept. I then wrote a number of letters. To my credit card fraud dept, to the attorney general in Jericho, to the attorney general of NY. I explained the situation and how it went about and what was promised and what they failed to do. Innovative also sent threatening a letter, to take us to court which I also put in my letters to the 3 above mentioned places. That was the end of it I haven't been bothered again and I didn't have to pay the money to my credit card.

We prayed for God's guidance and intervention. I wish you well.

Go to www.ltrba.com and click on file a complaint and file your complaint with the proper places in the State you live in, the State the timeshare is in and the State the Scammer is in.

My timeshare in Mexico was for 25 weeks. As I have now paid for more than half of them, actually used only three, i can now cancel my contract. Didn't cost me anything and I'm rid of the $540 year in maintenance fees. Thank goodness. I know some timeshares never end but with some like mine it may work with your resport. It never hurts to ask your if they will allow you to cancel. After been scammed many times on timeshare resells and spending mucho dollars, take my word for it, never ever sign up with a resale company. No matter what they promise, how slick they sound, it will not happen. I just had a call from Innovation. They gave me a florida phone number but said they were located in Jericho, New York. I will give them a false credit card no. just to mess with them. Creative Vacation screwed me and I got most of the fee back from VISA. Go to your credit card company first. I, among many others, have sent in complaints to the Florida AG re Creative Vacation and American Marketing Group. They were both shut down but have started another company scamming timeshare owners desperate to sell their contracts. Both are in court now and I hope to get some of my fee back. My advice is to never buy a timeshare in the first place.

They are absolutely a scam. They make initial contact and keep calling and calling until you finally give them the money then you never hear from them again. If you call and question what happened to the buyer they will tell you that the family they were working with backed out of the deal and they are now "marketing" your timeshare. What a bunch of bull, people don't have money to pay exhorbitant prices for timeshares. You might as well shred the money, the results will be the same

Really, so what number do I call to get my refund? Innovative Resorts International has defrauded me for $2899. They had a representative call me and say they had a sale of my timeshare and needed the $2899 for title search. When I first received the docusign document it said it was for a listing, so I questioned the sales rep and he said it was so they could send me the paperwork for the closing. He also said that he would FedEx the contract and if I didn't like anything in it, I could just not sign it and I wouldnt be charged. And guess what, when I got the so called contract, it was just for a listing, nothing about a sale. So I called and said I wasn't interested. I was charged anyway and now am being told I had 48 hours to cancel. and I am out of luck. So if you are really serious, who do I talk to in order to get my refund. By the way I sent a couple emails to the address listed in the contract with NO REPLY.
