Sadly, it isn't a game, it is an unforgettable scam that will haunt you for years if you sign the contract. "Investing" in a timeshare, in and of itself, is flushing money down the drain. If you own one anywhere, you know what I mean. You buy a fraction of a property, believing you are prepaying for future (awesome!) vacations. As the time between your purchase and present day grows, the maintenance fees escalate until it isn't worth continuing to pay them. Is it worth paying $1000 annually to maintain a 1/51 share in a two bedroom hotel room with a modest kitchen and ho-hum furnishings? I walked away from the money Randy and Coco Sunset, or whatever thy call themselves this week, robbed me of. The resort put $19K of my money in their pocket that I will never see again. Those of us who were robbed by Coco Sunset, et al are such a small percentage of the visitors to Costa Rica that it has minimal impact on the country's tourism. The real insult, for most of us, is the sales staff at Coco promised to sell timeshares we owned elsewhere, through a third party, that they now claim no part of. It is no coincidence their sales partners change on a regular bases. If you look back through the thread, you'll see Optimus, and many others are named as the "reseller " but the story is the same, 300 days to sell the units you own for more than you paid for them; what could possibly go wrong? After 300 days and no check, we come to the sad realization, no check is coming. We now own another timeshare we don't want and certainly don't want to pay maintenance fees on. Financial transactions, regardless of where they take place, should be carefully considered. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. If you want the legal protection your home country affords you, buy a timeshare within your own borders (Redweek, anyone?) and trade your week(s) through exchanges like Interval Int. or RCI to visit exotic locations abroad. If you really want to enjoy your vacations, find a great destination on TripAdvisor and don't buy anywhere! The only winners in timeshares are the developers.

For those of you who feel you have been scammed and lost money you need to make the effort to go to your local FBI office and report your losses. Once the total losses exceed $100,000 from all combined across the US the FBI will proceed. As individuals unless your loss is $100,000 nothing will be done, but as an organized group we can pool our losses and reach the investigation criteria.
Take whatever evidence you may have, make your case and make sure you explain that others across the country are doing this to reach the $100,000. Ask them to make sure your report gets forwarded to the Richmond, Virginia office to the attention of Special Agent Michael R. Schuler.
I will need to know the date of your filing of the complaint, amount and the FBI office you filed your complaint. Your name and contact information is optional, but preferred so I can follow up with the FBI and you.
If you paid with a credit card and have asked them to dispute the charge and lost please let us know the credit card company involved, we may be able to unite against them if satisfaction is not received any other way. No credit card numbers should be provided, just the issuer of the card and card type. There may be a pattern to their denials.

Randy is the one that took us for $30,000- and sadly we paid cash. I just came across this- not sure of the date it was published- will post excerpts from article as well as the URL
It truly sickens me. How do they get away with it? How do they sleep at night?

Article: Two New Sales Specialists Join Residence Club Sales Team Four Seasons Residence Club Costa Rica is pleased to welcome two new Sales Specialists to our team. Richard Skolrood and Randy McIntyre have numerous years of combined experience in the residential real estate business, in addition to familiarity with the luxury resort market and the country of Costa Rica. Like Richard, Randy McIntyre is likewise impressed by the quality and service of Four Seasons, as well as the beauty of the actual buildings and how well it blends with the surrounding environment. “Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen,” he notes, “and everyone should have a chance to experience it like I have.”
A native of New Orleans, Randy most recently lived in Florida, where he sold resort and residential real estate for the past 24 years. An award winner with Beazer Homes for top sales volume, Randy brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to Four Seasons. Up for the adventure of living in Costa Rica, Randy is excited about the energetic real estate market that is burgeoning here.
Randy is also an outdoor enthusiast who is thrilled with the bounty of activities that await him in Costa Rica. He has yet to sample the country’s whitewater rafting, snorkeling, zip lines and hiking, and for good reason: he promised his two daughters ─ Haley (age 12) and Olivia (age 9), who live in Scottsdale ─ that he would wait for their visit this fall before embarking on any excursions without them. “The three of us enjoy all outdoor activities, and so I’m waiting to experience those things for the first time with my girls,” he says.
In his spare time, Randy enjoys cooking, especially Cajun cuisine from his native Louisiana, and scuba diving. He is excited to test the waters off the coast of Costa Rica, having heard that the diving here is among the best in the world.
We invite you to stop by to visit with Richard and Randy to find out the latest news on Four Seasons Residence Club Costa Rica and the growing Peninsula Papagayo region.

Dear Peggy, Is there another way to contact you because anyone can go on this site & I prefer to talk via telephone or personal email. I have some questions about the FBI investigation. Thanks

As you mentioned this is a public site so I would rather not disclose my contact information at this time. If you Google FBI and your location you can find a phone number, it wasn't listed in our local phone book. There will not be an investigation until people file their complaints. All I can tell you is to talk to them, then let me know the information listed in my posting. Be sure to ask them to forward your complaint to Special Angent Schuler in the Richmond Va office. We really need to take action so others do not have to experience what we have. Thanks

Hello All,
I just wanted to update everyone that I fought this purchase with my credit card and won. We purchased from Bahia Turq back in Jan of this year, I went home and found this forum and all if the negative things. I tried booking a trip, got the run around and I also never received log in information to the website within the first 60 days as promised- so I started a dispute with my credit card in early Feb. It took about 7 months, but I was finally granted the money back this week from my credit card. Visa took it all the way to arbitration on my behalf. If you purchased this with your credit card, be sure to file a dispute ASAP, don't give up.

Daniel, anything new. I am at my wits end. I was there in June 2013 with daughter and they lied and cheated me out of 8100.00 and think they are going to get the rest. Not ever. The resale of weeks was fraud and a lie to get me to sign. I never would of signed if I wasn't getting anything for this.

We all have been scammed by these crooks. We never saw a penny as far as them renting our unit and we never saw a penny from the contract with them for the resale of our Cabo San Lucas unit. We are out over $30,000. I do not plan on sending them any more money. It was a lesson learned and we are putting it behind us and have moved on. I do still make posts on other websites and tell everyone I see about these crooks. Cindy Kidd especially.

I have posted on Pissedconsumer and Travel Advisor. Go to Gatekeeper. That has great info. I even emailed them and they gave me a group that is trying to do something. I am so sorry you lost so much money. I cant believe they are stilling running the same scam in November. I am reading Trip Advisor and people are still signed up because of their rental income lies.

Hi Peggy,
I have another large group on an email chain that would hopefully file with the FBI. Some of are Canadians. Do you think this matters?

I had a crazy experience at this resort, I posted several reviews on TripAdvisor, but it appears they were reported "inappropriate"...Anyways, thank God our instincts told us to go and google them before giving them any money...Here are a few on the people who tried to scam us: Caroline Gogue, Martin Schriber, Travis Scott, Cindy Kidd...They all have profiles with pics on Facebook (not the smartest scam artists) check them out, you may have dealt with some of the same people.
