belaire golf resort and spa
We also bought at the Belaire in 2007 and found out for sure that we were scammed while there this past March, nothing was there but a security guard and lots of weeds growing. Up to this point we still had some hope. While in PV this year we found a man named Michael Black who works for Universal Vacation & Consolidation Company as a purchasing agent and is a lawyer? maybe. He has told us he can help us cash out the Belaire property somehow through UVC an American bulk holding company located in Texas and Canada as well as the Caymans. He recently e-mailed us forms from this company guaranteeing the purchase of our Belaire property for the amount of $91,740.00/ appraisal value in current year 2012: $138,397.00 upon the agreement that seller covers administration and services fees of $2795.00. Final funding will take place within 90 days after receiving proof of ownership weeks. Supposedly this is sold to Universal Vacation & Consolidation Company and they make money by retaining the difference in the present equity value and what we receive and that he has already done this for others. We would love to believe it but are skeptical as no one seems to have gotten any money back except from the credit card co. or directly from the developer when forced. Wondering if there is anyway to find out if he is a lawyer in Mexico. He also says he practices in the US as well and that is what we need to settle this situation. Also when we were there this year we were in contact with a friend who lives there and knows of :Antonio" who said that he has had two strokes and a heart attack and that one of his sons died in a car crash. Not sure if this is just a local rumor being spread or not. We also ran into Antonios "cousin" Nico who sold to us. He has been hired by the Mayan to work in sales for members. We made the manager there have Nico come over to our table so we could ask him about the Belaire. All he said was that he is in the same boat as we are, that he invested too and we just all have to be very patient until the new owners Hotel U buy us all out. I asked him what exactly did Antonio sell. His answer was "he sold the rights to build the only casino in the PV area, the only one of its kind." Not sure if he was conned as well but we think he knew exactly who Antonio was but who knows. We were very surprised to see him working at the Mayan where he might well come in contact with people that bought at the Belaire as quite a few Mayan owners did. Well anyway let me know what is involved in the class action suit and any other info would be appreciated. Thank you, Kathy P.

I think if you take the time to read all the posts on this website about the Belaire you should have no problem believing that you will not get bought out, you will not get your money back from them. They are all just a bunch of criminals. All these different people who offer buy back options etc are just scamming people for more money. Dont do it. If your credit card company won't give you your money back your only option is the lawsuit. Good luck Rena and Steve Turner

I am just responding to alexp83's remark about the Mayan. We just upgraded our Mayan to Grand Mayan and now I am wondering if that was a mistake. It made dollar sense to do this as now we have no maintenance fees and no fees due every 5 years which over time adds up to a lot. Is there any more info out there concerning the Mayan/ Vida vacations that we should be aware of. We have to pay off the balance soon and it is @ $8000.00. We like the Mayan and feel that at least they give you what you pay for but we don't particularly trust them either. thanks

I also used Capital one for the purchase in 2007 and would appreciate any info regarding what they are saying. If more of us get together I would think it would help Cap. 1 to verify the info from all of us. I need an e-mail to contact you, thanks Kathy

KATHY.... WE BOUGHT IN 2008, WITH OUR CAPITAL ONE CREDIT CARD. WROTE TO THEM ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND GOT THEIR RESPONSE. IT BASICALLY SAID TOO MUCH TIME HAS ELAPSED. BUT HOW WERE WE TO KNOW THEY WEREN'T GOING TO BUILD, UNTIL ONLY RECENTLY?? WE TRUSTED, AND WAITED, ASSUMING THEY WERE. MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS "hinterlongmel@yahoo.com". THANKS!!!

We bought at the Mayan in 2003 and really have had no problems getting our week there. We recently upgraded to the Grand and I am wondering if this could be a problem there because there are so many owners. We really still like the regular Mayan best, I don't know why we gave them more money except they always make it sound like it is in your best interest to do so, no maintenance fees if you don't use it, no more extra fee every 5 years etc. Not sure what they are doing to the regular Mayan building as we were told by a friend of ours who works there that they were closing that building down at the end of April and no one knew what was happening. Some workers had even quit to look elsewhere for work. It seems like they are trying to force all members to not be regular Mayan members so they can come up with something else. I think it might take awhile though as there are still alot of regular Mayan owners left who are happy with what they have and they do have to honor the contract and have a place for you to stay I guess. I don't know I am not sure of what to do with them, at least they are completing buildings and giving you something for your money.

I have attached two quotes from PROFECO in regards to getting any cooperation with this resort. In short, this is the 4th time PROFECO were to meet with these criminals on our behalf and they did not show. They were fined $500 USD but once again PROFECO has no teeth even to collect this money. There has never been any buy backs, so please do not forfeit anymore of your hard earned money over to these crooks in belief they will honestly help you. As the bottom line explains, court action is your only means of any restitution.
1) "Regarding your complaint against RESORTS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION, S DE RL DE CV, we would like to inform you that during the last hearing, the legal representative of the company did not appear. For this reason, supplier were fined for not appearing even though they were notified properly; the amount of the fine was for $6,000 pesos. In this regard, we would like to inform you that this authority does not collect the fines, since it is a faculty of the local authorities where each provider is located."
2) "thank you for your e-mail. As informed Profeco does not take claims against criminal charges, our goal is reach an agreement in a conciliation procedure. however if a claim for criminal charges is required you may file your claim in the Mexican Tribunals though a judicial/civil procedure in order to enforce a resolution for you."
