STOP PAYING THEM-I DID
They have been offering a buyout option to me for my remaining time (2025). Longest deal in the universe but I signed years ago, so this is my stuff. I am trying to negotiate an amount versus the maintenance fee times the years I have left. But I do not know what is going on down there. I will not go back as it is terrible now. And they are not members of RCI but their own exchange. Amy info is welcome. Thanks
Judith B.
Judith I have been a member since 1982 and with the last contract have double week package that is over in 2026 and I will be long dead before we can use them.
FYI..... after 30 some years we made our first exchange three years ago and they have many good exchange companies they work with. No need to miss RCI

You can't be garnished unless they have a judgement against you. If you didn't show up in court to dispute their claim it is just tough toenails. If you had shown up in court and demanded that they PROVE their claim they most likely would not have had proof and it would have been tough for them.
Not showing up to dispute a claim is a mistake many make. Go back through your records to see if you were served properly with a notice to appear in court. If you were not then you may be able to get over on them.

There is no such thing as a "judgement to come to court" or a "judgement that they want to garnish". A judgement is a ruling issued BY a court, which provides the plaintiff with the right to collect from you (via garnishment or otherwise).
To obtain a judgement, the plaintiff must have the court serve you with papers specifying what they are seeking and summoning you to a hearing/trial on a specific date. If you received this and did not show up to dispute it, the plaintiff is issued a default judgement against you. If you did not receive a summons, then most likely there was never a hearing nor a judgement. This is easy to verify.
