It's simply that they are going to ask YOU to pay THEM SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS to take your timeshare week. Sound good?
The rest is just details...

I was able to get rid of two time shares by just calling the office and making arrangements to deed them back. I only had to pay the current taxes as long as I was up to date with my maintenance fees and assessments. They just charged me a very minimal fee to process the paperwork. I strongly advise anyone to contact their home resort and let them know that you are ridding yourself of the burden with or without their help. This way they will not worry about years of unpaid fees and legal expenses to end up with it back and I now have peace of mind that they are gone. I didn't have to pay any upfront fees and worry that they never transfered it out of my name. I have the recorded deeds and am free of any future obligations. Good luck to anyone else that wants to unburden themselves and beware of wolves in sheeps clothing. It's a jungle out there.

Donate Your Timeshare To a Cancer Patient
WHO ARE WE?
Laura's Journeys is a program promoting travel for cancer patients in partnership with Roosevelt Hospital, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in New York City. Established in 2009 in loving memory of Laura Parness, Lauras Journeys is specifically designed to encourage and facilitate recreational travel for cancer patients at Roosevelt and other hospitals within the Continuum Health Partners network. The program facilitates recreational travel for individuals undergoing cancer treatment by awarding vacations for the patient and a companion, while also providing practical advice for traveling during their therapy.
In the first two years since its inception, Lauras Journeys has awarded more than 20 trips, including one-week cruises to various parts of the Caribbean,New England/Canada and Bermuda; a one-week trip to Athens, Greece; vacation home and timeshare stays in Merritt Island and Palm Beach Shores, Fla., and Galloway Township, N.J.; and weekends in the Berkshire Mountains and Atlantic City.
Winners are selected from random drawings limited to current chemotherapy and radiation therapy patients. In an effort to make the getaways as stress-free as possible, the programs volunteers assist the winners in all aspects of planning their vacations.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Laura's Journeys welcomes all forms of donations from the travel community and we invite individual owners of timeshares or vacation homes to donate week or weekend accommodations. We belong to the NTOA ( National Timeshare Owners Association ) and I read an article about getting rid of your timeshare. They suggested just calling the timeshare and see if they would take it back, We called and the two timeshares took them back with just a quit claim deed and a very minimal fee. We are now free.
That seems too easy.......Why would they want to just "take it back"? they have you on the hook for $600+ a year in fees, why would they not want to keep that going? I love the idea, but it just seems too easy. With all the thousands of people trying to get out of their timeshares, and making one call would get them off the hook, one would think if that worked these boards would be empty.

How do think a resort operates? Maintenance fees are fully disclosed at time of purchase and yes, these fees go up as expenses increase. I am sure in your world, goods and services have not gone up in 20 years. How ignorant!donp196 wrote:We were in the same postion trying to donate our timeshare with no success. It's simple. I explained to them that I was going to get rid of my timeshare with or without their assistance. I was going to have it transfered out of my name. If the new owner didn't pay the maintenance fees it was not my problem. This way they could find someone to pay the maintenance fees without going through thousands of doallrs in legal fees and missed fees. for years.

Good luck, the phone number has most likely been disconnected as the scammers had to relocate. Several states are now getting into the game and closing these outfits down. Don't be naive!!!
