Please report upfront fee scammers to Attorney General .... there's power in numbers ... Florida has begun
I was scammed by 2 companies:
1) BML Marketing - one of which I was able to get my money back when I showed them they charged me yet never had a signed contract from me. I was lucky - it took a lot of effort, lots of phone calls, emails & letters, and once they agreed to refund the money it was delayed several times, but finally got a check.
BML claimed it had been marketing under several sites including:
http://www.timesharesolution.com http://www.worldwidetimeshares.net http://www.vacationmarketplace.net
There were indeed ads there - but in no basic useful format, nor were they in alphabetical or any other type of order, so to find the ad, one would have to scroll thru many many pages.
I did get a full refund after politely threatening to use every avenue available to me to bring pressure upon them.
2) The scam artists I'd really like to get my hands on are those who work / worked for -- Interval Consulting Group out of Atlanta, GA. They too took money upfront with a written guarantee to fully refund the money if they didn't bring an acceptable offer to me within 180 days. Interesting, at the time they approached me the BBB and the online-BBB had them rated as A-, but as the 180th day began to roll around all of a sudden they had dropped to a C- and then ultimately an F. BBB was useless when I questioned them about this.
I've read on another website, ComplaintBoard.com, 100s of other complaints about them. I decided not to hold my breath re getting my money back, as by using the 180 days, there was nothing American Express card could do to help me.
I will of course continue to follow up w/ the Attorneys General of NY, GA and Fl. Perhaps someone can help.

I also had no luck with the online BB. I am out $1490.00 from Realty Properties, alias Realty trade. I told them these scammers were using their ratings to lure people into a false sense of security. I have heard nothing. I have however filed an affidavit with the Attorney General in Fl.Do not understand why they are doing nothing.

If you're speaking of the attorney general in Florida, justice takes time .... just continue to file your complaint on a weekly basis. Florida is really stepping up the heat on upfront fee resale companies. I would never trust BBB ratings.
