Getting rid of your timeshare

What untruths .... list them please.

You obviously have a vast knowledge of the industry (as I'm sure you a part of it), maybe you could use it to actually engage someone with some real insight that provides a solution. Which up to now, you’ve been no part of.

I hate to have to burst your bubble but I'm in no way part of the timeshare industry in any aspect. I have owned numerous timeshares in the past that we sold before moving to where we wanted to spend the rest of our lives via a timeshare vacation.

I don't condone bogus charities and LLCs that tell lies to prospective clients .... that's what I try to get across to Redweek forum readers (along with the other thousands of timeshare scams out there with new ones popping up everyday).

I've known Jayjay for a good time now and I know she is in no way connected to the industry. She only tries to help people make educated decissions pertaining to their situations. Most of us in here are just trying to help others avoid the scammers. We were successful in running BJ Cooke and his scam machine out of the forums along with his company PRL. Unfortunately we weren't able to prevent him from taking thousands of dollars of peoples hard earned money.

Like Jayjay states there are so many scams out there and this one sounds very questionable. I would like to know what they do with the properties that they claim to take ownership of after taking the money from the clients. If they can't or refuse to answer that question then nobody should do business with them. One of the reasons maintenance fees have gone up so much is because of the viking ship companies. That alone is reason enough not to do business with them.

I personally believe that most timeshare owners are satisfied customers like I was when I bought my first timeshare. I have since seen the industry take a turn around. First with RCI being bought by a greedy corporation that started selling prime weeks on the open market and depriving owners of the exchanges. Then there was the ever increasing maintenance fees some caused by viking ship companies.

I would like to see the industry return to the good old days but that will never happen but we can work together to improve owners benefits. I belong to the National Timeshare Owners Association. We represent owners interest not the industries interests. It's the voice of owners like you and I. Please consider joining the only organization I know that fights for owners rights.

1) That Im associated with CHT and/or actually DRK in disguise 2) That CHT cant accept donations 3)The whole $5k limit thing that nobody cares about

Provide something more the just posting an ad on a forum to get rid of a TS.

I may consider that as theres a lot in the forums that isnt being talked about. A lot of ideas about what to do, but not much on the method for doing it. I was able to figure it out and know more about how things work inside. Actually Id credit you with something you said months ago that gave me a new approach on how to get rid of the TS. Another guy on TUGs did too. Posting ads everywhere gives false hope and I avoided early on and the relief scams for what they were. I need to look at my notes what it was, but you seem to be someone w/o an agenda. Thanks

Oh, you mean the $5K that CHT tells you that you can deduct from your income taxes without an appraisal? Believe me, if somebody believes this crap and the IRS comes after them they'll care alright including penalties and interest.

The only thing donp has ever posted concerning ridding himself of 2 timeshares is that he contacted the resort's HOAs to see if they would take the timeshares back and they did. He never considered paying some bogus charity or LLC to take his timeshares.

I see you posted above that relief companies are SCAMS yet you continue to condone them, specifically CHT.

A big thank you is in order for donp196 and jayjay for hanging in and letting "honest time-share owners" know about the ongoing scams in the industry. It's absolutely amazing to read all the arguments of the defenders of these criminals, it appears they would rather have a close association with them than with the majority of honest owners.

How does one join the National Timeshare Owners Assn.?

Just go to their website www.nationaltimeshareownersassoc.com or contact the president Ed Hastry at hastry@aol.com. Along with your membership you receive a free subscription to Timesharing Today. It's a great publication written for and by members. It is non biased with articles and letters by members. It helped me finally rid myself of two timeshares that I wanted to give away. You can email Ed Hastry and let him know that Don P. recommended them. I've worked with Ed a few years now and met him at our annual Florida meetings. He's a dedicated hard working activist for members rights.

I wonder if the organization has a coverage on timeshares in Canada and if so, would appreciate some assistance. In particular, ownership on the Sunchaser Vacation(fomerly Fairmont Villas Resort) at Fairmont, B.C., Canada. Please advise.

Thank you,

caluttur

I like your explanation. Does your Charitable organization covers Canada? Or, do you have an affiliate in Canada?

I would be more than happy to donate our Sunchaser Vacation (formerly Farimont Resort Villas) which is located in Fairmont, British Columbia, Canada.

Please advise ASAP.

Thank you kinly.

I have two different Red Season week's that I am trying to sell myself. For now, it's just by word of mouth. These are Ocean Front Properties, deeded fixed week's at Myrtle Beach. I haven't gotten to the point where I am willing to give them away. Good Luck yall with getting rid of yours.

A red season beachfront week (I assume that includes summer) should not be hard to sell, although you won't get anywhere near what you paid if you bought from the developer. Have you tried to rent it out?
