Sapphire Residences

anyone been to this resort?

Aug 27, 2013

Okay. My negative post has been made to Trip Advisor. I wish I could find other sites to warn people about the crooks at this dump. I am trying to get Cindy Kidds name out every way possible. I really don't believe that she has left to work at Marriott International Resort Club. That witch is in hiding there in Costa Rica. Karma is going to greet her one day soon.

We just got back from staying at Bahia Turquesa formerly known as Coco Sunset. When we checked in we unfortunately did the wrong move by signing up for the timeshare presentation. They are marketing rentals that are not even under construction. But their sales pitch is good, convincingly good. we bought into into it and after all was signed , we did the research and found out it was a scam. You can't find any info on the internet of Las Playas de Palmas TM, Nor their Parent company Meridian.. The website they provide was made last summer, even though they claim it has been in business for 10+ years. The phone numbers they provide are unreachable making me believe that they are just Magic Jack numbers, since I used to have one.. We called our timeshare to find out if they indeed called them since they would of needed the Deed # to make a contract for us to sign, since part of the deal was for them to take one of our timeshares off our hands to reduce the price of their timeshare. No inquiry was made, which meant that we would not see the $24,000.00 check they would "mail us within 300 days" for the resale of our timeshare. A couple who recognized us from the timeshare presentation, approached us to let us know that it was a scam and they too found that out after they signed up and then did the research. When they came back to cancel the contract, they were told that their files were "lost", how convenient for them.... We both had to put freezes on our social security , existing credit cards, cancel and report fraud on the credit cards we were tricked into signing up for..... For anyone who is reading and has been scammed too, please post your experiences on trip advisor and anywhere else. People need to know the truth. If you want to know more details of my experience reply back..

We made a claim dispute with the credit card company and we could cancel our transaction. The result of the claim is that the company in the US never respond the phone calls. So it was easy. I should be getting the confirmation letter this week and I'm canceling the credit card after that. Fortunately they didn't get one cent from us, the down payment was through the said credit card. They keep calling us and leaving messages but we don't respond. We also filed a complaint with the Attorney General of the State and they accept the complaint so now we are just waiting for them take us to court (we don't think it's going to happen). I create a Facebook page, please join us and keep it rolling.

Sergio,

How did you present your info to your credit company? Many people on here have said that they weren't able to get their money back, so I'm interested in how you did it, seeing as I'm about to send mine in as well. I'm in the exact same situation, I (at the time) was only a few days past the "allowed time" to take the contract back, and they refused to call or speak to me. I've halted any other payment other than my first, intial down payment. So, like you, I'm in a waiting game. However I haven't started receiving calls from them yet.

I do wish you all luck. We didn't get anywhere with the Attorney General, BBB and Visa. They all declined our claim. We all need to get this scam out everyway possble. Again, these crooks will not get another penny out of us! As far as I am concerned that entire developement can slide right into the ocean. Along with Cindy Kidd too!

Ok. Our down payment was made through the cc company they offer (visa) the other payment was going to be a direct deposit to their Bank of America acct. 11 days after signing the contract we tried to cancel and they said no. They referred to the contract under Costa Rican law... But I found under the same law that I have 30 warranty... So I told the cc to cancel the transaction because we found out it was a scam and we had 30 days. They tried to contact their company here in the US and they never called the cc back. So they just contact me saying that they were returning the money to my cc... Actually I never had to pay the bill because it was due for September 2... And I'm not sending any direct deposit as well... I don't know what they are gonna do... After the denial they are trying to contact me offering different payment plan but I'm not answering phone calls...

I`m very upset and I can`t sleep at night , so I decided to hire legal support in Costa Rica directly. If somebody want to join us please send me information about , we can make a class section in Costa Rica. People need to know the truth and we need our money back. Come on guys post on tripadvisor about that.

This is a great idea, but there are no class action suits in Costa Rica. Be careful about attorneys. The rule in Costa Rica is that one hires an attorney, and then you need to hire another attorney to check on what the first attorney is doing. I love the Costa Rican people, so don't get me wrong. However, this is a Third World country and government and legal corruption are rampant. This is one of the reasons that the crooks at Coco Sunset or Bahia Turquesa are able to perpetrate their fraud.

Our best line of defense is to keep writing about how Bahia Turquesa is nothing but a scam that has stolen millions of dollars from people. These posts have helped other people from getting scammed by these crooks.

Well that's a bummer, I read over the rule but didn't see anything saying that 30 days, and I'm out of that 30 day period. I'm still going to file with my credit card, and hope for the best. My second payment is due Sept. 16th(direct deposit wire transfer), i'm obviously not paying that. We'll see what they say after that.

Hi I agree with you ,but believe me I know what I`m doing. The law firm is very respectful and one of the partner`s attorney is a friend of mine , he studied here in CA . So I`m very decided to stop these mexicans-italians crooks.

Again, this same identical thing happened to us in Nov of 11. We are still paying on the loan that we made to "trade" two time shares in buy (bye more likely!) into their program and pay extra ($25,000). It does hurt and CIndy Kidd was our contact personal in Costa Rica. I am sorry but it sure left a bad taste in my mouth for Costa Rica! The story is longer with all the transactions that we had with Omni Corp. All fictitious. I don't know how those people can sleep at night.

We need to keep getting these crooks names out there any way possble. I have posted Cindy Kidd from CocoSunset and Scott Riggs from Omni Corp. on several websites. We will never get any money back so everybody needs to know that these people are scam artists. Eventially it will come back to haunt them. Hopefully sooner than later. Keep fighting!

Now I have Lori from resort timeshare resales annoying me with telephone calls for the rental of my Cabo San Lucas unit. I found negative comments on them on Scamboot, Trustline and Ripoff Report. She is wanting $699.00 upfront for a lifetime rental of our unit. I have learned alot about these crooks in the past year. That company has 50 complaints this year alone along with a B- rating with the BBB. Some complaints even include her name. Beware all....they are all maggotts!
