I make way more than what your mother stole from me. She should be embarrassed for scamming a veteran.

I do know Ketzy is a legitimate person, and isn't Tom. Ketzy contacted me several years ago, when she was scammed by Marion. Ketzy saw my phone number and email on this forum, so she was at least following it. maybe just not making any comments. Marion scammed my husband and I out of money, renting us a timeshare in Maui that didn't exist. I have been in contact with another woman that lost A LOT of money, and never got a cent back. Same scenario, renting many rooms to a group of people, and those rooms didn't exist. Thankfully, you live in England, and she didn't pull you into it. Then I must apologise again. If that’s the case, then I jumped to conclusions that I shouldn’t have. I didn’t come on here to upset or antagonise any potential victims, but when I found this site, read through and saw Tom acting the victim, I just couldn’t help myself from posting what I know. When you responded in the way you did, I immediately thought you were protecting him, and then more so in your second post. I’m going to make sure that the truth about him is known, but this probably isn’t the best place to do that, considering who I am. I’m truly sorry for offending you.

Quote the case reference "OR-11-0252. Marion S. Verner and Kelly Price". They will advise you when the court date is fixed and invite you to attend if you are required.

The list of names of people whose statements have been included is: Cooper, Patterson, Greening, Foster, Woodcraft, Stevens, Dunston, Franklin, Reilly, Boone, Bracken, Starling, Molloy, Adnett.

The date for the court trial is not yet known but I will post it on here as soon as I get to know.

I see from the Court Records that both Marion and Kelly face arraignment hearings which will probably be done by video between the jail and court room tomorrow, the 13th November.

I also see that Kelly's original defense counsel, the Public Defender for Polk Co. has now withdrawn from representing her due to a conflict of interest as he is defending Marion in the other case that Marion is charged on. A new counsel has now been appointed to represent Kelly.

The newly appointed attorney for the Defendant, Kelly Price, has called for the Disclosure of all evidence, statements and documents held by the Prosecution in the case. This is a normal procedure. i would have liked to post images of the court document here but this forum does not support images unfortunately.

Polk County Court Records have just been updated with regards to the Arraignment hearing of last Tuesday, the 13th Nov. Marion S. Verner filed a written plea of "Not Guilty" to the charge of Grand Theft (which is with regards to the Foreclosed Homes scam - not Disney Area Villas LLC) and pre-trial hearing has been arranged for 16th January. Both Marion Verner and Kelly Price have submitted written pleas of "Not Guilty" to charges of Conspiracy- organised fraud in the Disney Area Villas LLC case and will now move forward to a pre-trial hearing on the 15th January at 11.30am. However, it is unlikely that either defendant will have to appear at court personally but by video-link from jail. There is then likely to be a few weeks further delay before full trial by jury takes place. So they will have been in jail awaiting trial three or four months by that time.

Peter, I for one, really appreciate your continuing updates. I can't believe that in my case it has been 8 years since my original encounter with Marion Griffin and just possibly her bad karma is finally coming back to bite her.

Just a thought . Why doesn't someone notify the prosecutor about this thread . He might be interested in reading the victims posts .

I think that you will find that 'the authorities' are already familiar with this and other Forums in connection with this case and visit them fairly regularly !

I was wondering, back at the beginning of October when our pair were arrested in Mineola TX, what was it that first brought them to the attention of the local police ?

Was it, maybe, a traffic offense, a smashed rear light, or a speeding ticket which alerted them ? Or was it some kind of tip-off.

So I asked my contact at the FDLE the question 'how come they were arrested in small town Texas ?" She has told me that it was all down to diligent, discreet and dedicated detective work by her cyber analyst and good old 'ears on the ground' locally !

You can imagine how, once the mention of Mineola TX came up on 'social media' it wouldn't take too long for the word to be put out locally for any sign of some Brits with funny accents in the middle of all those small town Texans ! Hell no !!

You would think that, if they really wanted to disappear somewhere in the USA, the family would have gone to somewhere with a lot more Brits around to blend in with than in small town Texas. Maybe LA for instance.

But a family with Essex Estuary accents in the midst of all those locals with stetson hats - they were bound to stand out ! So their address was easy to find and they got arrested soon after !!

Everything has gone very quiet on the court records for our pair. Next event will be a further pre-trial hearing on the 15th January which will probably be conducted by video from the jail to the court room. As they have both pleaded 'not guilty and opted for trial by jury, someone who knows about these things tells me that the Defending Attorney may try for a 'plea bargain' whereby, if they change their plea to guilty, they may serve a reduced time in jail. In which case it would not go to trial by jury. However, the Prosecution is looking for them to serve time in jail.

A very interesting (and amusing) four page handwritten letter from Marion Verner to the Judge has been posted on to the case documents. I will try to post a link to it but it may not work.

However, she is appealing to the Judge to consider the Affadavit which she made almost two years ago when she tried to exonerate Kelly Price from any involvement or responsibility in the Disney Area Villas scam. Marion writes a long and quite confusing letter (writing and spelling are clearly not her best talents) in which she also incriminates her estranged husband Thomas Verner as being the reason why she was 'hiding away' from him in Texas.

She seems frustrated by the slowness of the US legal system and the fact that she has not yet had access to her Public Defender as promised and expected. The letter has just been posted on the Court site in the last couple of days.

Please also remember that she and Kelly are due to have a pre-trial hearing by video in the last couple of days. Two expected witnesses for the prosecution have also been indicated in the first case against Marion (in which she stands trial by herself) for Grand Theft. No witnesses have yet been posted for the Conspiracy organised fraud case which is of more interest to people on here caught up in the Disney Area Villas scam. The link didn't work. I'll try to find some other way to bring the letter to you.

KELLY PRICE HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM JAIL ! I heard this late last night that Kelly Price has been released from Polk Co. Jail yesterday, the 20th February. I am trying to get more information on the reasons but for the moment here is the latest I have. On the 14th February her defense attorney filed a request with the Court for a Date for a Speedy Trial. A date of the 19th February was fixed at 8.30am for the Trial to be heard. The County Jail records now show that she was released next day (yesterday). Interestingly of the three charges against her one says 'time served', another says 'nulle prosse' (whatever that means *) and the third calling for her to held for ICE says 'hold dropped'. So whether that means she is free to return 'home' to Minneola TX, her last known address, or whether her husband and son have now relocated to the Orlando area (again) or whether she and they will be declared as 'illegals' by ICE and all escorted to the airport and shipped back to the UK -is anyone's guess right now. Meanwhile, Marion is still held in jail and her next pre-trial hearing is late February. Maybe she will now apply for a Date for Speedy Trial too ? (* Nolle prosequi is a Latin phrase meaning “will no longer prosecute” or a variation on the same. It amounts to a dismissal of charges by the prosecution. Some states, like New York, for example, don't use the phrase. Rather, they simply use the term dismissal.)

KELLY PRICE IS OUT ON FIVE YEARS PROBATION - WITH MANY STRINGS ATTACHED ! A quick glance at the various court documents filed in the past week shows that Kelly is NOT 'free and clear' by any means. When she went to Court on the 19th Feb. at 8.30am she had changed her plea to "Guilty' to the charge of "Conspiracy to organised fraud" (with Marion) and it was on this charge that she was sentenced to 140 days in jail - time served. She was then released on FIVE YEARS PROBATION with many strings attached which include restitution of prosecution costs, court costs and VICTIM RESTITUTION of $32,841.00 to the list of victim claimants who are shown on the court document. This condition of probation is paramount to the release conditions and, if she should not adhere to these conditions and make repayments within a certain time frame (more later) she will be re-arrested and jailed again. This is the good news for those people who hung on in there and followed the case through. Please also remember that Marion Verner is on completely separate charges and is due to have a pre-trial hearing today (26th Feb.) My view is that, following her letter pleading Kelly's innocence and taking all the rap herself, she will also now change her plea to Guilty and face the music alone. So her day in Court for trial by jury may still be March/April and victim witnesses should be prepared to be called to give testimony whenever that happens.

MARION VERNER HAS BEEN RELEASED - BUT SHE ISN'T OUT OF JAIL JUST YET ! At a special court hearing yesterday Marion S. Verner changed her plea from Not Guilty to Guilty on Count 1, Grand Theft and Count 2 Conspiracy to organised fraud, thereby avoiding a jury trial on both counts. Put briefly, her plea-deal caused the prosecution to drop the prosecution on Count 1 in return for five years probation plus restitution to the single victim of the Grand Theft case. On Count 2 (which is the case you all are interested in) she was sentenced to 18 months in jail (of which she has currently served almost 6 months) followed by 5 years probation plus restitution to her victims and court and investigation costs. So she was released on one charge - but not the other ! She is still currently in Polk County Jail being held for transfer to a State of Florida Detention Center, where she should have an uncomfortable year or so to serve before being deported back to the UK to serve her probation. (Please note that I am not an Attorney but this is just my treading what is, after all, pretty plain English on the Court documents.) Go to : https://www.polksheriff.org/inmate-profile/1847360
