We too bought into this Belaire project back in 2008 and not only did we pay as in full good abiding un-apologetic Canadians, but we also exchanged our current family timeshare for it! My friend & ReMax Associate broker in PV also has told me this has been a scam from the start! I've requested information via emial & phone calls numerous times, never to be answered. Finally I reached John Anthony at Hotel U who proceeded to scream & humiliate & talk-over me about this negative propoganda that has been circulating! But still no answers, no building, no swimming pool, no Casino.....nothing! we were contacted by JT Williams about a payout that was absolytely ridiculous $$ but the catch was we had to wire them a 10% closing cost before they would proceed with buy-out....red flags once again went up! I would like more informaiton on this profecto process along with this civil suit, as I'm afraid at this point its a lost cause! thx

Does anyone know if any new construction has began? I wanted to file a complaint and was invited, but went through a divorce and it has been a difficult 6 mos for me and so have been idle. Please tell me if anyone has had success getting any information from the Hotel U and if there is still a chance someting will be done. It seems the complaints and court dates will end up a loss also but at least you are trying. Thx Mike

We were there today and the status is the same. I have become friends with the security and waiter. They are optimistic that construction will restart soon. Restaurant will be open Dec 1st for dinner. They both stated that the construction crews had been there in the last few days. It is now called "U" Vallarta.

We recently visited the U hotel/Belaire office and saw Mario. He says he is the new manager. He says people will lose their money if they do not transfer over for a cost of $5,000.00. Mr. Copela is still around however and Profeco says the ownership has not changed, only the name. This seems like a money grab. The company is stil selling. Any news from anyone else? Lani

Please tell me more about Mario. We met a Mario at Grand Myramar last winter. He said that he was from San Antonio and he did not have positive remarks regarding Antonio and crew. He said that Antonio wasted all the money. Interesting if he is indeed the same. I requested a meeting in February when we are in PV. I have not received a confirmation regarding my request.

We went to a presentation this afternoon. We did not know about scheduling an appointment so felt fortunate in being seen. We waited two hours and was able to been seen as we fly out of PVR on Friday. Mario really wanted us to buy into the title transfer so we were able to get squeezed in. If you have a chance to make a reservation, make it as they are scheduled until mid-February.
At the presentation we were told that for an $8,000 title transfer we would be able to receive over $100,000 (the money that we had originally invested). Mario is so convincing that my wife wants to take the chance of getting our money back while I'm believing that it is too good to be true. We need to decide by tomorrow if we want to complete the deal. While there we saw several people waiting to re-invest with U-Resorts to get their orginal money back. On another Redweek blog a family did the title transfer but hasn't had any success in confirming the validity of the deal with the escrow company holding the funds. We were told that we needed to decide real quick as the funds are running short and when the funds are gone, there will be no more title transfers or buy-backs.
