Week #5 - Royal Haciendas

My sister-in-law and I are staying at the RH for Week #4 (1/26-2/2). So far we are unable to find flights back to the States on Saturday and so we have flights booked for Sunday, 2/3. We are looking to rent one night, Saturday, 2/2, from someone at the Royal Haciendas. Anyone willing????

You might put a posting on www.omcancun.com, www.tug2.net, and www.mexicondo.com.

If not, contact the resort directly and they should be able to help you.

Good luck! :-)

Oooops...just saw the note to not post rental requests, etc...sorry!

Shan - thank you for your advice. I have posted one add on one of those sites...I'll do the others, as well. I also checked with the resort and they quoted us a price three times higher than what we'll be paying/night for our week stay. :(

Thanks!

You could add a RedWish on RedWeek.com for the night that you need.

Good luck!

Is there a reasonably priced golf course nearby?

Hello, I am wondering if you can use the pools and facilities of the other Royal Resorts in Cancun if you are staying at the Royal Haciendas. Does anyone know? We may stay one week in the Royal Caribbean and one week at the RH. Mucho gracious.

Yes, you can use their pools and facilities--it's encouraged, actually. And if you are at any Royal Resort you will need no cash or credit cards whatsoever at any other Royal Resort (anywhere--not just Cancun). In most cases, you *can't* use cash or credit card and may *only* use the RR card.

Leo12 - what are the prices at this stage, are they going up? Any information will be appreciated= Alicja We own at the Royal Haciendas, and it is gorgeous and will be when all is said and done one of the premier resorts in Playa. We own in phase one (which is all sold out), and now the units in the other phases aregoing for a couple thousand more each. When this resort is done, they will have a golf course, their own "town" with shops, restaurants and entertainment. Right now it's kinda like when they were building the Royal Sands, phase by phase, and now look at the Sands-it's gorgeous and everyone loves it (including us we have a week there). So the Haciendas will even be bigger than the Sands. The Beach at the Haciendas beats any of the beaches in Cancun! Talk about tranquil!

I would be interested in hearing from owners of week 12 or 13 at the RH, we own week 14, and would like to touch base with any week 12 or 13 owners.
I am the owner of week 13, what would you like to know? I am also interested to know how much you paid for you unit, I hope we did not overpay as it was very pressured way of selling & we had to make a decission very quickly Alicja

We are planning our first trip to the Mayan Riviera, my husband and 3 kiddos, ages 11, 8, 5. Our exchange bank Interval International (II) only has the Royal Haciendas available, only one near Playa del Carmen, which is where we want to be. I understand that the resort is not fully open due to still being under construction. I was hoping to put my request in REALLY early so that we have a greater chance of getting in. We are planning on traveling next year, but maybe someone can help me with WHEN to go. We couldnt decide on May or late Oct/early Nov, the II guy said our chances would be better if traveling then, and as I dont want to go during peak times, either of those work for us. So what time is better for weather, ocean calmness, crowds, etc? Also, I have read on other forums good and bad about snorkeling at RH, is it great or not so much? And I read the beach is rocky with a lot of seagrass, true?

Andrea,

We just returned from two weeks in Mexico --- our first week (week 16, April 19-26) at The Royal Haciendas and the second week (April 26-May 3) at The Royal Caribbean in Cancun.

The Royal Resorts are wonderful, regardless of which one you stay. We own at The Royal Haciendas and The Royal Caribbean, and love each of our weeks for different reasons. Late April is a great time to go. We had two weeks of perfect weather.

I did a 40 ft scuba dive only five minutes from the resort, and it was wonderful. You can also go over to Cozumel for snorkeling/scuba, which many people do.

Personally, with children, I would also consider the Cancun resorts. The Royal Islander, Caribbean, and Mayan, & Sands have many activities for children (as well as Vacation Club International, but personally, I don't like the beach there as well as the other Cancun resorts), and there are friends to be found at each pool! I have a five and nine year old, and my nine year old befriended a lovely girl from Argentina who has the same birthdate! The Royal Haciendas only has 125 villas finished at this time, but by the time you go Phase 3 could be done, adding another 60+ villas. They are working hard to finish!

We have also traveled in late October to The Royal Resorts. It rained one day while we were there, but it was nothing to spoil our trip. The temperatures are close to the same in late April/early May and late Oct/early November.

Regardless of when you go to whatever Royal Resort, I don't think you should worry about crowds. The villa set up doesn't promote crowds, but I guarantee they do promote meeting new friends. You will meet amazing people and want to go back!

Good luck, and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Shannon

Thank you so much for all the fantastic info! I dont think Cancun is much for us, we were looking for something a little less BIG I guess city-wise and a little more authentically Mexican. Playa, from what I understand has grown quite a bit recently but has still kept its unique charm... I think for our first trip it will suit us well... but we are considering a day trip to Cancun! My family is from Alaska and this will be the first time any of us has ever even swam in the ocean! I wanted to make sure the kids could enjoy the ocean, not to rough to swim in, be able to snorkel, etc. I cant remember if Ive already read this or not, but I understand you can walk to Playa, does anyone know how far it is?

From the Haciendas to Playa, it's not a short walk....You do have to walk...They was supposed to make a walkway from the resort to the Playa to make a shorter walk for us. They did not do that just yet from what I heard. You can take a cab there for $10 or the free shuttle there and back on a time schedule...I have two more weeks to goooooooooooo, can't wait :o)

I have recieved confirmation thru II to stay at the Royal Haciendas in June 2009 in a 2 bedroom. There will be 6 of us. 3 adult couples. Do all the two bedrooms come with 2 full beds in the second bedroom? I would prefer no one had to sleep on murphy beds in living room! Is there a certain room or phase that I should request so as to get two beds in the 2nd bedroom?

Steve W.

Yes, the second bedroom has 2 full beds. However, the murphy beds are very comfortable but those sleeping there may be disturbed by early risers. We own there are really love the resort. Have a great stay.
